Broughton Fire Station Description

Broughton Fire Station is a Whole Time station based in the East of Milton Keynes, the station provides an immediate response to a large proportion of Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. the areas covered include the M1 motorway both North and South of junction 14, the Xscape building, CMK shopping building, the Open University, MK General Hospital, a vast number of the city estates positioned on our station ground and many others, we also go further afield to provide support to our neighbouring stations when required.

Here at Broughton we provide a wide range of services to the local community which we serve. Protecting our community and providing a first line emergency operational response is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the services provided by your modern day Fire and Rescue service.

It is recognised nationally that prevention is always better than cure so we are constantly engaged in a number of initiatives to try and promote our organisational values of making Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire the safest place to live, work and travel.

One area in particular that really is reducing the number of incidents and injuries from fire are our Home Fire Risk Checks, this is where our crews will come along to your home and offer advice while fitting smoke alarms where needed free of charge, to arrange a safety check of your home please get in touch by phone on 01296 744477 or email cs@bucksfire. gov. uk

Crews from Broughton and Bletchley Red Watch, have taken part in a joint training exercise with South Central Ambulance Service. The purpose of this interoperability training, is to make personnel aware of each other’s work practices, capabilities and specific roles when attending incidents. The day consisted of several road traffic collision scenario, which allow us to fine tune our skills on rapid and full extrication techniques. As well as casualty care and dealing with trauma 🚒🚑🚒🚑

Red Watch carrying out confined space training. Which basically means squeezing through a little hole, whilst still breathing using a breathing apparatus set 😁🚒

Broughton attended a Bathroom fire last week, which involved candles being used on a wooden surface and incorrect candle holder. Luckily the occupant closed the bathroom door before exiting the building. These images show the importance of shutting your doors at night and in a fire situation. The fire was contained in that room until emergency services arrived.
... Don’t forget: *Shut all doors at night. *Use appropriate candle holders *Make sure you don’t place candles next to anything flammable. *Get out, Stay out, Call 999.
