First test of the new air conditioning and the Zumba ladies approve!

New air conditioning being installed this week. This will be very welcome i am sure by clients who during this hot weather have felt the need to cool down outside.

It almost slipped by without a fuss but yesterday marked 20 years since Joan Walley MP opened the first hall. Her support at this stage was immeasurable.

Well Sylvia Hayes, Your family and friends did you proud yesterday. How can a sad occasion as that be so friendly and happy. Your children and their families have grown up to be lovely people.

It was 33 years ago that the community started to transform this derelict building into what we now call the village hall. However it's events like today that show just how important it really is. Thank you to all those people who helped out, some of you have passed on, some don't know your names but you made a massive positive difference to the lives of many people.

People often ask us if we have a resident disco and the answer is no we don't. Experience has shown that its a matter of personal choice, however this last weekends the DJ was superb, He became everyone's friend very quickly hot everyone dancing and very professional. His light kit was also brilliant. So check out Darren Antrobus before booking someone you don't know.

Overnight transformation! The cleaning team have done a wonderful job starting at midnight and working to 7 am to get the hall ready for a party today.

Just lately we seem to have had a never ending stream of funerals held in the Hall. We have another next Tuesday. This one for our friend, supporter and committee member for many years Joe Braley. I hope all of us who worked, raised money and supported this incredible self help project get some satisfaction from seeing it used so extensively. Next Tuesday for example its not only being used for Joes funeral but also being used by the bowling club, Aerobics, yoga and a lady has hired it for personal singing. What would we do without it.
