TexGrip has arrived!
Brownings are proud to bring TexGrip to the the market. TEXGRIP FITS MOST TEXTILE SYSTEMS, it replaces the keder you normally stitch onto the skin. Using Texgrip will ensure your skins are always tensioned perfectly.
For larger signs we recommend using TexGrip in conjunction with the traditional keder sewn onto the skin. Stitching the Keder to both the top and left/right hand side will hold the skin in place for your fitters as well as ensuring the image ...is straight. The skin can then be pulled tight and pushed into the TexGrip on the other 2 sides, this will create a perfectly tensioned skin.
Using TexGrip will ensure less skins go back to your printers for re-stitching or re-printing. It will save time on site, cause less stress and save you money. Carrying TexGrip in your fitters van could be your "get out of jail free card" if a skin is to big. The skin can be trimmed down and TexGrip can be placed into the frame to grip the skin.
TexGrip is great for Exhibition work, were the finished frame size isn't always what it's intended to be. The skin can be printed bigger and TexGrip can be used in the frame and then any excess trimmed off
Now in stock at Brownings. Either to buy by the roll or in conjunction with our TexSign

People ask us, How do you build your Econoflex Boxes? Here is a sequence of photos showing the method we use. Basically by cutting all the sections of the box and then screwing each back together, using the joiner plates supplied. The back supports are all cut at the same time, ensuring they are all the same length. We then fit the back supports into the gussets. This ensure that height is correct and the joiner plates are sent with the box. If you would like to know more. Please message me.

This photo shows the tag of silicone beading that will require cutting off both horizontal edges. DO NOT cut the skin, any excess skin can be pushed into the edge of the kader channel with a thin piece of card - store cards work well! don't use your bank cards just incase you damage it :)

We get asked what can be done about a textile skin that is too long. Have a look at the video, simply turn the silicone beading around an exxtra turn. starting fromn the centre of the skin, work you way to the bottom and to the top of the box. You may have to pull out the ends in the top & bottom horizontals to achieve this. You will be left with a small 'tag' of silicone beading on teh horizontals. Whatever you do, DO NOT cut the skin, but cut the beading only back by about 15mm and unpick the stitching. The 2 horizontals can now be pushed into place.
You may have to pull the skin back out of the frame/lightbox to achieve enough stretch on it to wrap around the beading an extra turn.
If you think the skin is too fragile or weak do NOT try the above but contact your skin supplier.

One of the many TexSign lightboxes we produce. This one is illuminated using Ladder LEDs. Faster to install. Great for when the budget is tight!

Everyone seems to be uploading a 10 years on photos. So I thought we would get on the band wagon ourselves. Before we moved into our current English St factory in Hull, we would stuggled with a 5m dia box in our old Williamson St unit. Now we can build 4 or 5 of them side by side. Obvioulsy once we had cleared the decks!!
