Browns Birmingham

We went for my girlfriend's belated birthday and promotion at work celebration. When booking (A week earlier) I asked for the Lobster Risotto main course to surprise her as it's her favourite and I didn't want to go only to find they'd ran out of Lobster. They not only had our Lobster but also helped keep it a surprise. The staff also wished her a happy birthday when bringing our deserts and congratulated her for the promotion. The food was delicious and the staff were absolutely amazing.

As well as the Lobster Risotto we both had the scallops with black pudding and a rasberry dressing starter. For dessert Natalie had salted caramel profiterols and I had a Peach Melba.

We both had a great night and will definitely recommend Browns as well as returning.

We had lunch in Browns yesterday, it was delicious as usual. Service excellent and pornstar martinis to die for! The staff were very attentive and friendly! We mentioned it as my soms birthday and unrxpectantly they brought him out a free desert with happy birthday written in choc sauce! Lovely touch Thankyou x

The food was wonderful, the staff were excellent and so welcoming. The thing that really made the dinner party I was hosting such a great afternoon was the pianist who was truly remarkable.

On my first visit last night I had a fabulous time great food and wine. I had the steak & Ale pie

really well cooked with wonderful mash followed by cherry and almond crumble absolutely delicious.This place has a wonderful atmosphere and great service a really lovely place to spend your time!

My partner and I came here last night for a meal. Little did I no my better half got down I one knee to pop the question ( said yes of course) staff were lovely and couldn't be happier for us. Customer service was spot on. Meal was delious to. I shall most certainly be coming back when i vist bull ring . Well done guy's

Lovely restaurant right opposite the church in bull ring , brilliant service from staff and food was excellent . Seating outside which is lovely in the sunshine just think it needs some music in the background but well worth a visit �

Lovely lunchtime experience with my daughter was enjoyed yesterday. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable- my daughter is a nut allergy and gluten free, we were made to feel very special instead of a nuisance- great choice on the menu for my daughter.

Have been in Birmingham for a week on business eating and drinking in various establishments.

Came to Browns (finally) and was not disappointed. You expect good service and good food from Browns BUT our waiter Rob was incredible. Nothing was too much trouble and we were a very awkward group!!!

He was extremely knowledgable recommending the perfect sides and had such humour whilst staying professional and So good at his job.

Will definitely be back in a couple of weeks when I am back in Birmingham.

Had an early meal “surf & turf” chef special it was amazing plus the drinks were following too - service was very good - we had a lovely evening ending it with “wine tasting” up stairs very well organised - we will be returning again thank you

Had a lovely afternoon lunch with three friends and couldn't fault the place. Food was delicious and the waiter was very attentive. I had been to Browns before but my friends hadn't but all said how they enjoyed themselves and would definitely return.

Good fresh food well presented at a reasonable price....+our waiter Matt was very efficient/helpful/friendly and good looking....what more can you ask for �

It was a nice friendly atmosphere, the staff were on top form , we didn’t have to wait long for our food as we were all hungry, they served us very professional, will be going again it was my first but my friends had been there before . Bal

We went here for lunch yesterday and was slightly disappointed. The steak sandwich was like a peice of leather, my partner had to cut it with a knife and was very gristly. My chicken sandwich was ok. The bread was over cooked and hard. The chips were delicious. Not sure if I would come back here...

Birthday afternoon tea booked in advance. Seated outside and ordered! On arrival was told by the waitress all the cakes were available including Victoria sponge! 2 shortbread cookies with cream and raspberries instead. Cream was off and very sour. Informed waitress who apologised and took top tier back to replace with more lemon cake! Sandwiches large and sloppy filling. Scones size of 50p coin! 1 pot of tea and 1 Latte! Overall charged full price at £15.95 per person ! Consolation was bottle of bubbly due to being a loyalty customer!

My friends and I stopped for a cocktail during a day out yesterday - cocktails were nice but I've had better. We chose ones off the special offer selection; 4 drinks in total and the server tried to add a service charge of £2 without even asking and before we'd had the drinks! As we refused to pay the charge, they said we could settle the bill at the end - the intimidating tactics didn't work as we still didn't pay the extra. We're not America - tips should be for outstanding service and for meals, not for one round of drinks!

After what could only be described as what we thought would be a lovely evening!!

After arriving in plenty of time befor the table we had booked we thought we would have a few cocktails at the bar befor we sat for our meal. After visiting 5 times previous we knew we wouldn't be disappointed on arrival just after 7 our table being booked at 8 the bar tender pointed out that several cocktail were available at a discounted price of 4.95. At our delight we had two each befor sitting down for our meal. At which my partner presented a free cocktail code. We sat down and had a lovely meal. A few minor issues but nothing we couldn't have it up with!! We requested our bill after dessert and a espresso martini which we also where overly impressed about. On receiving the bill we had a few questions on which the waitress was very helpful with. To then be told that the cocktail offer was only available befor 7pm stated NOWHERE on any advertisements!! We brought this up with the waitress who consulted her manager who then went outside and checked the boards and came back in and stated it said on the boards!! As to which I now know was false after paying our bill in believing the manager and checking afterwards. After seeing that the manager had lied to us about where it had stated it was only until.7pm we confronted the manager who became very hostile to myself. I did not however want any compensation other than for him to acknowledge that his attitude and treatment towards a customer he had lied to was completely wrong! We also after leaving your establishment very disappointed and upset did not realise you put a 10% service charge in willingly!! I am very unsaticified with my evening and the way we had been treated by your management on our special anniversary!! In fact I'm fuming and will not allow this to go with just a bad review!!

The food was ok for the price however our whole experience was ruined by the rude, aggressive manager who confronted the Bride to Be for ‘upsetting’ a waitress for asking how long the food would be. It was myself who asked and not the bride to be- who definitely did not deserve to have his hand held up to her face multiple times to shush her when she said she had no idea what he was on about.



There were many other bad points which I have raised with Browns. I wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend this place.

I went into Browns Birmingham this afternoon and was very angry and disappointed with the service we received. Myself, my partner, 2 friends and my 10 week old baby went into Browns for some drinks. We had a pram with us and was quickly greeted by a male staff member who made it very clear there was not any room for the pram. We tried to stand in a few different places to which he told us we couldn’t due to other customers even though there was other people standing there. He offered us no alternatives and would not offer us a table even though there were some free. He even came up to us and said he could recommend somewhere else for us to go. We very quickly left as we felt that we weren’t welcome due to having a pushchair. I left feeling very annoyed and discriminated against for being treated like this. I understand you can be busy but his behaviour was absolutely disgusting.
