gorgeous afternoon tea, helpful friendly staff attended to all our needs, was so impressed looks like we might be coming back xmas day. Anyway food was perfect so was the tea and coffee, Def recommend and would go back.

We always pop in for a drink on the way home. Good service, friendly staff. Never had any problems

There were 21 of us for a birthday celebration all the meals came together no one person having to wait too long,children included. The food itself was wonderful the service excellent, the young waitress that served us was always on hand to supply drinks etc.We all had a superb time and I would recommend Browns to anyone,they were very busy but were very much on the ball to everyone's needs.thank you so much for making my sister's 65th birthday so nice.

Great service and food. Had a healthy salad option, fab. Located right next to the river so a lovely setting too.

Lovely setting opposite the river..nice food. Waiter at the reception very friendly and helpful.. the waitress didn’t come back with some bread!!! Could do with a a bit of TLC inside menu was all stained.. not bad value for money.

Lovely afternoon tea... delicious and great selection. Nice welcoming staff.

Only complaint is that the pots of tea came out way before the actual food!

Altho waited on food which was sitting up on side (under heat) for 34 mins food was nice. Staff were lovely. Felt very comfortable & relaxed. Would recommend to a friend & will be going bk in the near future.

We sat outside and the view was amazing (overlooking the river with swans and boats). There's a live piano inside the restaurant which adds a bit of a character to the place. However, the service was very poor. Not even one member of staff (out of five) could get things right from the moment we walked in. The waitresses are young girls, more likely students, but not expected the more mature members of staff to be very disappointing as well. Considering it is the one in Kingston, the standards should be by far higher. Apart from the food being served cold and not having things delivered on time, we've managed to have a nice and chilled out time.

The staff where good, the food was good value for money even though it was a bit cold and the roast chicken was dry. We needed to ask for more gravy which arrived which was also only warm

Great location but slow service. We sat outside for lunch and the pot plant on our table has spilled soil which was ignored by all the staff who dealt with us as were the food crumbs and drink spillages from the previous occupant. The floor was filthy and in general the whole area needed a really good clean. I won't be going back until that happens. The food was ok. It's a shame really, this place could easily be 5 stars.

Cocktails were very good. I was not happy because my son ordered two cocktails and the barman making the cocktails spilt one. No apology was forthcoming and my son had to wait at the bar waiting for the cocktail to be remade. A little disappointing as far as service was concerned.

Christmas meal on a Sunday afternoon-food and service great. Spoilt only by being sat right in front of freezing doors that open and left open every 30secs during the 4hours there. But luckily manager took £50 off bill by way of compensation xx take a coat

An average experience. ...we got there at about 12.15, served quickly but quite abruptly and matter of fact in manner. Had the 2 course £11.95 deal which was tasty.



I do however object to being automatically being charged 10% service charge...For what?..writing 2 things down ..and bringing 4 plates! With not even a smile.give me an option I'll gladly pay it if I've had the service...maybe give me the option reduce the bill by 10 % for lack of service....could do better...much better...try smiling for one !

This is the second time I've been and was quite embarrassed that I'd been the one to recommend the restaurant. There were 7 of us, 5 had afternoon tea, 2 had something else (sandwich and chicken). Took 25 minutes before they took the drinks order. New waiter who had to investigate whether we could swap chips for salad. Didn't know what tea they had to go with the afternoon tea, and eventually screamed it across from the till where he could read it. Brought tea long before the food, dirty cups had to be changed, no milk so we had to ask for that, the food that came out for the afternoon tea was abismal compared to the last time we were there, 2 tiny sandwiches, 2 cold peices of toasted bread with rationed toppings. HAd to ask for plates for food. The additional food took about an extra 15 minutes to come out after the afternoon tea. Had to ask for spoons to eat desserts, then the teaspoons didn't fit into the dessert jars so couldn't actually even eat the dessert. The service was incredibly slow, we had to call a waiter each time we needed something, and they were not even busy. We did complain to the manager who still tried to say she brought the plates immediately (after we asked). She did give us a discount on the bill, however this was for my baby shower, so not an experience I could redo elsewhere. Doubt I'd go back again.

The food and cocktails were nice but I discovered when I got home that we were charged full price for food when we ordered the lunch special. Luckily my daughter had a 20% discount card so it wasn't too bad but still a bit naughty Browns 😕

On Saturday 8 July myself and my partner had a special meal booked at Browns in Kingston. We often eat in Browns across London and is a place we often choose to celebrate special occasions. On this occasion I order the muscles starter and the lobster risotto. Unfortunately, the quality of the risotto that was served to me was beyond unacceptable. I was concerned about the quality of the food that was served to me due to the fact that the lobster was green so I took a picture whilst in the restaurant, which I have included in this post.



All those I have shown this photo to have questioned why I ate the dish I was served and did not send it back. However I did not think that I would be served a dish that was substandard or past its best. Needless to say I was extremely ill with food poisoning following the consumption of this dish. I am extremely disappointed in my experience and that it was seen as acceptable to serve food which was evidently off. I have had so many great meals at Browns over the years, but this experience will stick with me when I'm next considering where to eat in Kingston.

Not the best one for that location....food no good ..didnt like it ..stuf is pushing you to eat quikly to take you plate...sorry no good at all
