Browsers Bookshop Description

We are relocating our children's bookshop into a newly fitted department at 60 Thoroughfare.
Unfortunatley, the cafe is closing to make way for the children's books.
A huge thank you to all cafe customers whose company we have enjoyed over the years.

See also our Young Browsers facebook page (www. facebook.com/YoungBrowsers) for news and events from our children's department.

Dan Snow is a historian, BAFTA-winning broadcaster and television presenter. He lives and breathes history and believes passionately that we overlook it at our peril: “In a world of fake news, cuts to history education and politicians spouting fiction, there has never been a more important time to tell the true history of the world. This is why I want to engage a new generation of enthusiasts with this book.” Dan will be joining us at The Riverside Cinema Woodbridge to introduce his new book 'On This Day in History'. Tickets are £22 to include a copy of the book and one further ticket is available for £15, without the book. Call the Riverside or Browsers to reserve your place!

Sarah Langford is a barrister. She sees people at their worst, and at their most vulnerable. It is her job to tell their story to the court. ‘In Your Defence’ is a stunning personal account of eleven cases which feature elements Sarah faced time and again. They cover both criminal and family proceedings. She examines how she feels towards the defendants in the dock, and challenges us all to consider how our attitudes and actions can shape not only individual cases, but the legal system itself. The book is revealing and inspiring, funny and disturbing, and above all, beautifully written. Come along to find out more! Tickets are £16 with the book, or £8 without. Call 01394 388890

Following the characters introduced in the moody 'Blackwater', set in Maldon, this time there are two murders on a farm and the investigations lead to antiques dealers in Sudbury, and an institution on the coast. James works in publishing and has also written the prequels to RD Wingfield's DI Frost stories - the originals were dramatised for tv starring David Jason. Lots to talk about! A story of late love and second chances, with a Suffolk link, from a writer published for the first time, aged 70. One reviewer has described this book as 'warm-hearted' and 'clear-minded'. It is a delicate and beautiful tale told as a correspondence between two strangers. Tina lives in Suffolk, Anders in Denmark and politely, apologetically and tentatively they undertake an exchange of letters which becomes increasingly revealing and confiding. If you are a frustrated or eme...rging writer, or simply love a good story, you must come along and meet Anne! Tickets are £13 and include a copy of 'Meet Me at the Museum' (RRP £12.99) with complimentary refreshments. Call 01394 388890
