We've been using Bruce's service for three years now and our dog Ally loves it and so do we. Always professional and caring with the treatment of our dog we couldn't ask more for a daycare service. We always highly recommend Bruce's to all our friends and random dog walkers we meet!

My puppy adores going to Bruce's doggy day care! He gets so excited when he gets picked up! He's even more excited then when we get home or give him his dinner! The staff are lovely and he's always shattered when he gets home so I know he's had loads of fun! I would strongly recommended them and have done to friends who are planning on getting a pup in the new year! The photo diaries are a huge bonus as it's great seeing him with all his furry friends!

My furbaby Sasha, is a fully certified GSD, she has been welcomed at Bruce's Doggy Day Care in Ripley, for over two and a half years now. The staff at this centre have been superb, and have really helped with Sasha's sociability and development. Simon, Sasha's bus driver has become one of her best friends, and now, she can't wait for her weekly visit to Ripley, and play with all her friends, whether they're big or small.

Love this place. Bootsie leaves the house and hops into the van without so much as a second glance. And she comes home with a bounce in her step, mud on her nose and a happy tale to tell. Staff are lovely, the running is straightforward and reliable. I trust them with my dog - says it all.

I send my dog Frank who is a dachshund, he's very timid and can come across as 'aggressive'. Since he's started going to day care his confidence has grown from strength to strength.

It's part of his routine on Tuesday and now waits for David or one of the team to collect him.

I used to send my other dachshund Maggie but she didn't enjoy it as much.

Letichia and David have been honest with her development at daycare which as the owner means a lot to know they put the animals welfare first. I certainly don't feel like a number or pound sign to this business.

I'm really pleased with the service, I love seeing Frank look happy in the pictures they upload

I can't praise Bruce's enough! My dog has been going there for a month and the change in her has been amazing. She's a rescue and had a hard life before we got her. As a result she was a little weary of strangers, especially men. German, who comes to collect her, has been amazing. After a few accidents in the first few weeks she's improved so much and now runs up to him, excited to get going. Even my neighbor commented on the difference between when she was first collected to now...she practically jumps into the van! She's a lot more confident with strangers and seems a lot more relaxed.

The photo diary we get every week is such a lovely thing. We can see how she's doing and see all of her little friends

Thanks Bruce's!

Hi! I've been going to Bruce's since I was a cheeky little puppy. I'm so happy when I get picked up on Monday morning. I get to see all of my best doggy friends and run around all day.

I'm especially lucky because sometimes when I'm out in parks I get distracted by the scent of foxes and squirrels and nearly lose my humans, but at the centre it's completely fenced in so there is no chance of me getting lost and I can sniff to my heart's content which is the best thing ever!

Every now and again, when I have been a really good boy, my humans get these things out called suitcases and I get to have sleepovers with someone from daycare which I love! Then my humans get home and give me double portions of dinner and lots of cuddles which is awesome.

I've had such a fun day at daycare today that I'm really snoozy so am going to have a really long sleep in my bed. Thank you Bruce & Co. I'm a very lucky doggy!

Bruces is just wonderful! Our little sausage dog Waffle loves her time at school and it's such a help to us knowing she's being so looked after in the daytime! Thank you Bruces!

User

A great service! Sprocket is exhausted when he gets home, which I didn't think was possible for a sprocker spaniel; so I can only assume he has had lots of fun running around with his new friends! Staff are very friendly and clearly love what they do. Highly recommended!

5 stars to Bruce and The Doggy Day Care team. Always helpful, all have a genuine love for dogs and do a fantastic job looking after my two lively jack Russell’s!!

I'm one of the houses that backs onto princes coverts in Oxshott. I often see them walking the dogs, 4,5 at a time and never pick up any of the dog poo. And us residents can't even walk out of our back gates without stepping on one. Disgusting!

User

I tried to book into Bruce's doggy day care, I have a lovely friendly 14 month GSD - was told sorry we don't accept German Shepherd dogs, I told them that she is a very sweet natured dog , They wouldn't even consider giving her a trial. I felt so upset that they could discriminate against her just because of her breed - obviously have no idea about dogs!!!!!

I enquired about day care a few weeks ago. Our dog has been in another day care for several days a week for years now, but we might be moving so was seeing if we could book our lovely Bella in with Bruce's daycare. Unfortunately the minute I mentioned my dog was a staffie cross, I immediately was informed they don't take bull breeds.

We deal with the negative stereotype every single day, which we've learnt to live with and to a certain degree understand from people who do not know dogs. But from a company who proclaims to care about dogs, it was just so disappointing to be told this.

Our Bella was rescued from Battersea over 3 years ago. She's been going to another daycare for nearly as many years and she is considered one of the easiest dogs in the pack. She once protected other smaller dogs from being attacked by a big aggressive dog. She regularly, on our own walks, gets assaulted by every breed under the sun, yet she does nothing. She's amazing with puppies, children and any dog you can imagine big or small.

Yet Bruce's daycare didn't care about any of that. They did not want to get to know the individual story of our dog, she was just instantly dismissed.

For anyone owning an amazing dog, don't call these guys. They clearly don't understand dogs.

I contacted Bruce's as I was looking for a daycare for my dog. They were very friendly and helpful - until I told them my dog was a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross. Then I wasn't welcome anymore. When I asked if they would at least consider meeting her before deciding, they flat out refused.

I have come to expect breed discrimination from the general public and encounter this more or less daily. To a certain degree I accept that, as it is usually based on fear and ignorance. However, I demand more from people claiming to be professionals.

It is no secret that staffies are the by far most common breed in rescue centres today. Every day healthy dogs are being put to sleep as there are not enough people willing to adopt, and shelters are bursting at the seams. Staffies are notoriously difficult to rehome because of their undeserved reputation, and those of us who do adopt are then also faced with difficulty finding dogwalkers/daycares as there are so many so called "professionals" out there in this unregulated industry who do not want us as customers. Through their policies and lack of adequate credentials they hence perpetuate the ignorant portrayal in the media and the desperate situation many of these dogs end up in.

Even if you do not own one of Bruce's blacklisted breeds, I would think carefully about whether you want to support this practice, and if you should be comfortable leaving your dog in the care of people who are clearly uneducated about dog behaviour.

Although I’ve never used or needed to use Bruce’s doggy day care. After reading the reviews to which they discriminate dogs due to their breed. It’s a shock that’s like racism in the doggy world. DISGUSTING
