After being a life-long fan of otters I was incredibly happy to receive the otter experience for my birthday. Lovely staff and a lovely place. Fabulous day where you get up close and personal with the otters but you also get to help clean their enclosure/feed them- it really gives you the full otter keeper experience. Can't wait to return

I love butterflies so I was in my element! Was nicer as it quietened after lunch in all honesty. Otter feeding was great, first feed of the day so otters were all out. Not full of latest tech but simple and I could have spent hours more there, so could myself children.
Little walk you the toilets situated on the steam train platform but again no more than at other attractions, I think leaving the sanctuary to get to them psychologically makes it feel further away!

The train station is fully accessible to disabled passengers and also the train has a wheelchair ramp and carriage. The otter and butterfly farm is also fully accessible and very interesting.near by is Buckfastleigh abbey here you can wonder around freely there is the abbey and you might even see a monk. There is a nice restaurant and a lively gift shop. It is well worth visiting

It's very small, but we'll presented. The butterfly area is great, and the are tonnes of butterflies in there. It's stifling inside, so dress appropriately. The otter section is good, and it's great for the kids to see the otters swimming and playing. They also have a decent gift shop for its size, and the leaf cutter ants display is really cool.

Had a wonderful day during the Otter experience! The keeper, Chloe, was so informative and friendly. It's clear to see how much they love the animals here. The experience was wonderful, we got to hand feed some of the otters, even stroke one! We already can't wait to come back again!

Interesting and fun - we spent a full afternoon here looking around the butterfly farm and watching them hatch. The Otters were wonderful, definitely catch them at feeding time when the Keeper gives a full overview of all the others and what happened to them. All run on donations made by visitors this is a great place to come.

My wife and I did the otter keeper experience for her birthday and we had the most amazing time. Keeper Chloe was so friendly and knowledgeable and it was a great insight to see how they take care of the animals. We got to help with cleaning the otters and preparing their food and then we got to hand feed them. They do such a great job with rescuing and rehabilitating otters as well as helping with otter conservation work around the world. We can't recommend the place enough.

A quite nice place to spend up to 2 hours with the whole family. Coming while feeding time, you have the opportunity to see the otters and chat with the very kind keeper. The butterflies are interesting, too. There also is a shop where you can buy some butterfly-related stuff and nice food like cookies.

My lovely wife got me the full experience as a Christmas present and it was truly amazing. I have a degree in zoology and always wished I could get closer to the animals I studied at university and you won't get any closer than this! They are wonderful animals and the care and attention given them to is top notch, well done to Tim and the rest of the staff for creating and maintaining such a wonderful place and providing a truly unforgettable experience.

The perfect little adventure for all ages!

Visited as part of the '3 Great attractions' combined tickets. After taking a return trip on the South Devon Railway next door, we stopped off at this little gem. Great value for money where you get to wander the little butterfly 'greenhouse' enclosure where you find some amazing species of butterfly as well as some fish and tortoises.

Be sure stick around for the otter feeding times where you'll get introduced to the otter family. The caretaker there was brilliant and very passionate about the sanctuary. It's amazing hearing all the stories about how all the otters were rescued. A must see little gem for sure. Keep up the great work guys!

We visited in January. The butterfly section was closed as seasonal. We fortunately made it to the afternoon otter feeding. Tim was very informative and the otters were very entertaining for our 1 year old.

Outstanding! I booked for my self and my girlfriend to spend the best part of 3 hours helping out with the daily operations surrounding the otter sanctuary and it was amazing. The staff were fantastic and the chance to get up close with these animals was something special.

The butterfly sanctuary was also brilliant with so many different species to see, as well as the number of rescued reptiles they had (some of which could be handled)

Would highly recommend to anyone interested in wildlife!

The butterflys are amazing, especially if you are interested in photopgraphy. The otters aren't really my thing so didn't spend much time outside. The only reason I'm giving a 4 and not a 5 is that the place is a little run down, especially the otter enclosures.
