We love these cute Camping Cabins. They may look a little basic but, their memory foam mattresses make for an exceptionally good night's sleep 💤

User

just got back from a lovely 4 nights at buckle grove with the family. Lovely and cosy caravan lovely friendly staff and very helpful indeed beating site will definitely be going back

User

What an amazing campsite! Beautiful find and defìnitley worth a visit. We will be back soon, kids loved the pool and the bar/restaurant serves great food. All staff very helpful and friendly. More than your average campsite!

User

What a fantastic weekend! Thank you to all the staff at Bucklegrove who made us feel very welcome and even in the face of appallingly behaviour from a massive rugby tour group they always greeted us with a smile. The site itself is very well laid out and although I didn't venture in myself I heard very good reports about the Lodge and the swimming pools. A few minor points, and they are very minor, can you put down a few markings on the entrance road so new guests know where to stop to check in, I pulled to far forward thinking I'd enter through the right hand barrier, and could you throw a lick of paint around the toilet facilities, like I said very minor and did not at all hinder our stay. Once again thank you very much.

User

We were pitched in the Tor View field which has an amazing view.

The staff were all polite and friendly.

Toilet block was clean and didn't make me shudder or cry. I've read another review saying there were only 2 showers. There are 2 blocks that I knew of. Our main block had 3 showers, 2 cubicles with sinks and mirrors and a decent amount of toilets and hand washing sinks too. No complaints from me.

The food in the lodge seemed quite pricey to me, but I can't comment on value for money as we didn't eat there. It's integrated with the bar though so we did visit and it has a nice atmosphere with the park right outside.

The pool was nice, but fairly small. I wasn't keen on the changing facilities though. The toilets there were tiny, there wasn't a lot of changing space and the shower had no door or curtain. Wouldn't have been a problem to waddle over to the main block on a nice day to use the showers there but our stay was a rather wet and cold one unfortunately.

Overall though, the park was lovely, clean and well maintained, and an excellent location for our first camping trip. Hoping to return again.

User

We went for mums maiden voyage I her new camper.

The reception was efficient and friendly, booking in was simple and quick with easy instructions. All information that we may of needed was presented all together in a little easy to read leaflet handed to us on arrival. Pitch and facilities had been well kept, clean and tidy. Everything you could have needed for a stay had been easily accessible. The staff were very approachable and friendly so we would not have felt awkward asking for any assistance. Great campsite and Mum will be returning soon. Thankyou for helping make her maiden voyage so much fun and stress free x

User

We have stayed here in our tourer for the last week, whilst other members of the family have stayed both in a lodge and in a tent. We have enjoyed the site immensely and spent time at both the park, restaurant and bar. The food was delicious, although we have had quite a wait both times we ordered, but since the beer was flowing and the sun was shining it wasn't a problem. The swimming pool was a welcome addition and I have used it for a morning swim, whilst my girls have enjoyed having a splash around. The children have adored the park, and the woodland walk. The whole site has been well maintained and tidy. The shop was quite sparce, and could do with additional bits especially sweeties for younger children, and the space available for the children to play is quite limited as the pitches are quite closely put together. We really enjoyed the Saturday night entertainment and would have embraced more had there have been more, but understand that some people want a quiet stay without entertainment. Overall we have really enjoyed our stay and would recommend especially if you are looking for a base to visit wookey, cheddar and Weston-super-Mare. The views around are beautiful and I would return.

User

We are still here. We arrived yesterday afternoon and were met by helpful and friendly staff. After explaining this was our "first go" at camping, we were made to feel completely at ease and welcome.

The toilet/shower block are fabulous and clean with plenty of facilities to use.

The Pool is also fab (if a tad cold lol!) The changing rooms are small, but clean. The shower isn't really designed for "proper" showering, just to get chlorine off, although we did shower in our swimwear and hot footed it back to our tent in our swimmers to get dry and changed

Bar and restaurant really good. Food is a bit pricey , but considering a) it is a restaurant b) you are in the middle of nowhere and c) you haven't cooked it yourself it's really not that expensive. My husband and I had the fish and chips last night, cooked and presented fabulously...well done to the team !

The views are amazing and the site is easily accessible to lots of nearby attractions.

Thank you for a really enjoyable weekend...pretty sure we'll be back

User

So where do i start.

On arrival i was greeted by a very pleasant staff member :) :) made to feel very welcome after travelling with 3 bored kids and the wife.

Lovely views going across the park on our way to pitch 107 which is very nicely laid out and lucky there was nothing in pitch oposit so could get a good swing to reverse caravan.

The pitch was great and level. (Shame about my skills in levelling the caravan ha ha)

We was that enclosed i didnt even pin down the awning (lazyness on my part) and didnt budge the whole stay.

The utilities are great warm and pleasant to do your buissness or shower.

The swimming pool is sweet but fantastically simple the kids loved it my only negative on that is when i opened the door to go changing room i turned into an icicle lol.

The woodland walk was great kids enjoyed spotting the animals

The park was great for my older boys but the little one couldnt do much apart from placing her on top the slide to go down as she couldnt get up there on her own.

I didnt check out the bar unfortunately but it looked good from a distance

The shop is essential but still good to get bread milk etc but dont expect custard donuts or anything fancy ha ha.

Overall very happy and will definitely return

Me and my partner have spent two nights here out of season. Really lovely camp site, good facilities with nice hot showers. Nice views of the country around you too and there’s dinosaurs in the woods!

Lovely caravan park, good clean facilities and pretty views. Staff were very friendly. Shame the weather wasn't great when we stayed so it got very muddy, but we still had an excellent time. The pool is perfect for a quick splash with the kids and it has a nice play park too. There is a lovely pub about 2 minutes down the road if you turn left out of the park and follow the road down. Had the best roast! We will visit again!

User

Just returned from a fantastic weekend at bucklegrove caravan park. Brilliant site we took our caravan and had a lovely large grassed pitch kids absolutely loved it. Great swimming pool too. Most of all the staff are brilliant so friendly and welcoming we will be back soon x

Bucklegrove gets 5 Calvert review.

Beautiful, family friendly site.

Good food at the restaurant, friendly, helpful staff, pristine facilities block with roomy shower & toilet cubicles.

Bar prices were fab: 2 pints and four soft drinks under £10 and on site shop was not extortionate.

We will go back here for sure.

User

2nd visit to Bucklegrove. Came for the new year. Had a fantastic party with a delicious hog roast. Really amazing friendly atmosphere. The site itself is so clean. Being out of season we had the swimming pool to ourselves most of the time and the kids loved it. The staff are so friendly. We will be regulars now and already planning next new year! Xxx thanks for a wonderful break xxx

User

We have just stayed and had a lovely time. We camped in the large fully serviced pitch which is worth the extra money.

Pool is lovely and clean and if you swim first thing is quiet.

The shower block on the top field is slightly small so I went to main bloke. Water was hot and floor clean.

We did short dog walk out the gate at the top of the site and around the field. Did see someone moan that there is no where to walk there dog - you are right on the mendips there is loads of walking !

We went to the lodge to eat once food was average, but are some lovely pubs near by that are worth visiting. Shop was well stocked and open until 8pm which is good

The kids loved the dinosaur walk and play park. Lovely to see children running around and using the facilities. It is a busy campsite with lots of families which is what the site caters for

The only slight negative for us was there must be kennels fairly close so we did get woken by the barking dogs early.

All in all we liked the site and would come back.

User

I am still here and albeit the weather isn't great we are having a good time, however I am a new dog owner and this his first time out. We spent 3 nights camping at the site with our family and 2 year old daughter. It was awful. See the following points.

1. The overcrowding of the field, the pitches were to small and we were placed on a pitch with a steep incline despite us notifying them we had a two year old with us. Luckily she did not fall but I did.

2. The toilet block, I can only speak for the ladies but there were two showers for a field full of people. And one shower did not work. Also despite the wall sign saying the toilets were regularly checked there was only one time I actually saw anyone cleaning them. They were not nice.

3. The field we were placed on was occupied by a number of loud 'groups' of people. They continued to play music into the night with children screaming and adults shouting until at least 11pm. My 2 year old could not sleep.

4. The swimming pool was filthy, there were a number of adults in the pool with no consideration for the children. The water was freezing to the point where my daughters lips turned blue after 5 minutes. Again this was not suitable for my 2 year old.

A real shame for us, we had high hopes due to previous reviews but it was not good. AVOID!!

User

This site is completely different to what is advertised on the website, we were given a pitch for our tent which was just dusty gravel - no grass. It was just a field with tents and caravans dumped wherever it looked like. The noise was horrendous, the pitches were too close together and there was no respect from other families. There was noise of screaming children and drunk parents until 1:15am. The pitch was right next to a loud road with tractors and big lorries driving down. WIFI did not work in the top field. The pool was tiny and very overcrowded when busy. We tried to have a drink in the bar which is right next to the play park and there were kids running everything squirting us with water pistols. Overall it was the worst campsite we have been to and on complaining we have not been offered any sort of refund or anything to resolve our concerns which I find disgusting. Looking at other complaints on trip advisor it seems as though the noise has annoyed a lot of people! Would not recommend this place to anyone!

Ps I used their FREE WiFi to write this review

Lovely caravan park, good clean facilities and pretty views. Staff were very friendly. Shame the weather wasn't great when we stayed so it got very muddy, but we still had an excellent time. The pool is perfect for a quick splash with the kids and it has a nice play park too. There is a lovely pub about 2 minutes down the road if you turn left out of the park and follow the road down. Had the best roast! We will visit again!

I am still here and albeit the weather isn't great we are having a good time, however I am a new dog owner and this his first time out. We have regilously cleaned up after our dog it's a shame that other dog owners don't. I have cleaned up two other dog mess which wasn't ours dogs but there is more out. Please clean up after your dog

AVOID!!
