Buckman Associates Ltd is an economic development consultancy specialising in the development of the low carbon economy. It aims to offer clients a high level of service with robust, evidence based research to inform policy and strategic direction - supported by excellent communication and customer service. Key areas of work include: - Development of the Low Carbon Sector, Emma has led on a number of initiatives to map the low carbon sector and better understand its needs. In collaboration with ekosgen, she is now project managing a similar study for Lambeth Borough Council;- Evaluation of resource efficiency initiatives and projects, Emma Buckman has been involved in this area for over 10 years, firstly at BRE, where she managed the Impact Assessment of the Government's Action Energy programme on behalf of DEFRA and more recently at ekosgen, where she undertook evaluations for the SWRDA, Yorkshire Forward and others. Buckman Associates is currently completing a project for the Design Council which aims to evaluate the effectiveness of it's Water Design Challenge, an innovative project which brings designers into schools to help them improve their water efficiency. - Project /Programme Development - Whilst at ekosgen Emma was involved in a range of project /programme development activity including the Competitiveness and Convergence operational programmes (ERDF), the Plymouth Strategic Investment Framework and the Greater Dartmoor Local Action Group (RDPE).
