DO NOT USE, HAD A LEAK IN BATHROOM SINK THEY SAID I WAS NO COVERED BECAUSE I HAD ANOTHER SINK IN THE KITCHEN, SO MUCH FOR HOME ASSISSTANCE,BUT LEAVE IT FOR LONGER TO CAUSE SOME DAMAGE AND YOU CAN MAKE A CLAIM, PITY I COULD NOT GIVE THEM - star WILL NOT BE RENEWING

i give 1 star because i cant post without a star!!!!!worst company i ever had dont go for this one trust me,

probably the worst insurance company you are ever likely to deal with, unhelpful to the point of arrogance

I took a policy out with a premium of nominally £18. Checked just recently and it had almost doubled. I had made no claims, no changes. Nothing.

I contacted them and they said they had to hike the rate as they couldn't find a cheaper insurer for me. Which is odd as gocompare and moneysupermarket both found LOTS of comparable ones within minutes.

I lost track of the number of times in "customer care chat panel" I asked for their formal complaints procedure. After giving up on that I asked for the Insurance Ombudsman contact details.

After requesting it for I think the fourth time and saying that I THOUGHT they were legal obligated t provide details if asked it went dead. She had gone.

Before trusting these shysters, use one of the comparison websites - I tried three Gocompare, moneysupermarket and another one that I cannot recall.

They ALL listed the same quotes (certainly all the cheaper ones were identical) and not only did my premium NOT need to increase but it has gone down slightly from what it used to be.

Do NOT use Budget - the name is misleading. They will hike your rate, they will NOT notify and they work on the basis that if you do not object (hard if you do not know it is increasing), then you have agreed.

Small print in the T&C apparently says that you are obliged to allow them to renew your cover and you if the price has doubled or trebled - then tough.

Ghastly experience with this dismal team. It is going to the ombudsman and I have kept full copies of the "online help" which clearly shows my repeated requests for complaints procedure being totally ignored.

Not surprising that they have been fined for their malpractice enough times already.

extortionate cancellation fees £ 73 to cancel, compared to £ 25 with my other insurance company.Not like im cancelling to go to another company, moving abroad is a fair reason i thought. No recommendation and poor attitude

Awful service. Wanted to a amend a minor detail on my policy and got told I had to start a new one costing me £20pm more or pay £156 to cancel. Ended up having to remove my motor legal protection, guaranteed replacement car and breakdown cover to reduce the cost of the new policy however I will still be paying more than my old one. Absolutely disgusted and cannot wait until I can cancel my renewal. Such a dictatorship and no help at all for their customers. Steer clear!!!!!
