About Building Resilience In Communities (Bric)

Buliding Resilience In Communities (BRIC) is a volunteer based local charity, offering free, non-judgemental support to families with young children (of 11 or under) who are going through hard times or crisis. This support takes the form of weekly visits in the families' own homes, which are targeted to address and resolve the specific problems that are getting in the way of family life. Through our amazing team of family support mentors, we aim to empower every parent to give their children the best possible start in life. Buliding Resilience In Communities (BRIC)'s overall aim is to provide parents with support, friendship and practical help to enable them to give their child the best possible start in life. This belief underpins the charity's wider aims, which are to: 1. Reduce the extent of isolation experienced by parents and children, both socially and rural. 2. Improve the mental and emotional health of both parents and their children. 3. Empower people and communities to provide practical support and help to families. 4. Build firm foundations for Buliding Resilience In Communities (BRIC) to ensure lasting impact on local families. During 2017 /18 supported: • 493 families and 1106 children • 190 volunteer mentors were recruited and trained
