Wow what a place !! Just got back today after a weeks holiday down there at kingfisher lodge with my family and absolutely loved it there . My 2 girls loved getting in the hottub every day and a spot of fishing also . Superb location set in deep deep forest with other lodges around but far enough away to make u feel more alone . Very clean and well kept lodges couldn't fault them or the owners at all . Great place and will definitely be going back again and again .

User

What a fab place the accommodation is spacious and very clean. Loved the surrounding forest great it u have a dog. Will recommend to others.

User

We visited this place during the February half term. It was bliss - no it was heaven. It was a beautiful place to unwind and relax. The owners are really thoughtful and make the experience more enjoyable. They go that extra mile with the little touches, eg tea/coffee and milk available and we had homemade scones and clotted cream when we arrived. The site doesn’t have that commercial feel about it. I loved it and the icing on the cake was getting up early in the morning and having the hot tub to myself with view like this. We will be back without a doubt.

We stayed in bluebell over xmas this yr 2016 we didn't stay the whole week but that's due to family at home, what a lovely place to stay at had everything you need and the views is amazing the owners came out everyday and was so lovely to talk to, even are hot tub broke and the owner took time out xmas day to fix it for us would highly recommend this place for peace and quiet and fishing can't wait to book and go again

User

We have just come back from 4 nights in the Rosebay lodge and had an amazing time. The lodge was lovely, clean and a good size. You can easily have 4 adults in the lodge and not be falling over each other.

There was no mobile internet service or WiFi in this lodge but it was quite a nice internet detox to be honest. I’d take some DVDs if you are spending some nights in or have children (we bought some in a charity shop for £1 each and left them)

We will definitely be back to these lodges again.

User

Myself/partner and 4 children came here the weekend just gone, despite the weather. We absolutely loved it here, so peaceful and the lodge was very well kept and we all enjoyed a relaxing soak in the Hot tub it was bliss!! Definitely recommend and will be back next year! Xx

User

Lovely stay in Hunters Lodge with our two Dogs. Lodge was clean and had everything we needed inside. Scones on arrival were a lovely touch. Nice little forest with lakes and streams running through it. Perfect for a quiet week away from the hustle and bustle of the real world.

User

Lovely place very peaceful cabins are lovely and clean you can't see your neighbours and hot tub was nice highly recommended

User

Lovely idyllic location and a wonderful lodge to stay in. The lodge contained everything and more that my family and I needed. Liz, Mark and their children were always happy, friendly and willing to help. My children enjoyed the stay despite lack of WiFi but we have all lived without it before. We stayed in the Bluebell lodge and the hot tub was a definite winner with all of us. Would be somewhere I would like to return to.

User

Loved it. Spent a week over Easter. V reasonable and clean. Will be back.

Just returned from a 4 night stay in Acorn lodge and we loved it. Very baby and dog friendly - the gate on the veranda was an excellent idea. The lodge was clean and the information booklet was helpful and we had some super days out!

We realised on day 2 that our water supply had cut out, and Mark was prompt in fixing it for us within an hour of calling him. Super service. Thank you. Hope to be back next year!

I love the peace and quiet we loved sitting out at night just listening to the wildlife we was visited by a mum hedgehog and her two baby’s loads of pheasants and a squirrel and we saw bats and owls we have stayed in blue bell twice now in dec for weekend and July for a week and we just love it we will be back in 2020

User

Have used these lodges many times and I'm sure we will use again. If you want to get away from it all then these lodges are for you. The hot tubs are brilliant for relaxing in after a day out. It's true they are off the beaten track and there's no amenities/shops nearby and the WiFi is poor........ but that's the whole point! Perfect location if you want a break from everyday life. Love the place!

User

Had the pleasure of a four night stay here this month and cannot rate it highly enough. Beautiful surroundings and cabins, fully equipped with everything you need. Relax in the hot tub in near silence with only the bird song around you. Gated veranda so even the dogs could chill outside. Close enough to visit all of the beautiful areas in North Devon but far enough away to enjoy the silence. Unable to fault anything and cannot wait to return

User

Had a brilliant time, stayed in the Rosebay lodge. Had lots of snow while we visited but the lodge and the hot tub were lovely and warm, the snow made it feel extra cosy. The only thing we didn't have was Wi-Fi, but to be honest that was probably for the best as it kept us off our phones! Dogs had a fab time too x

User

After finding this absolute gem of a destination entirely by accident it can be only said that it should be likend to that of being shipwrecked waking up in a forest paradise.....(I know in Devon right?!) Okay I guess we were lucky with the weather. But in all seriousness we couldn't of been happier. Our welcome was friendly and personal and with a follow up visit to check was all okay and we new what to look for and where to find it as well as checking our very own Hot tub....HOT TUB! Yes this cabin in the woods had a HOT TUB! This location has everything. The accommodation: upon entering a large spacious room to the left was a dinning/kitchenette and the right was walk through leading to the rear and bedrooms and on the far right a spacious and comfortable sitting/family room. With a full and accurate and informative A4 display folder with complementary maps with useful information emergency and other useful contact phone numbers and details of everything from the owners cabin and police etc to the local chip shop or Chinese. There was also a complementary library of fiction books and a farmhouse dresser with boardgames and jigsaws for all ages. That is for any reason you couldn't find something to do in this or you found the ability to leave the Hot tub the accommodation comprises tunes the boast all the essentials and much more for a self catering holiday. The kitchenette come dinner comes complete with a medium size fridge freezer (larder style) and single oven and grill and also a very nice microwave as well as very handy editions which really guve u a break such as a dishwasher and washing machine with all you need to run these additional appliances and more supplies can be found in the cabinets including plastic hi ball glasses for use in the hottub as well as a torch candle and matches in case of emergencies as well as plenty of crockery and utensils to help in he preperation and consumption of all manner of meals. The cabin we were allocated had a spacious double room and a twin and another double room with ensuite. Opposite this room was the main bathroom a large spacious room with shower bath and w/c and sink with towel dryer very handy as have I mentioned it has a Hottub?! . All teg bedrooms were spacious and had dressing tables (with vanity lights) and lovely sliding door closets/wardrobes as well as a chest of drawers or bed side table.

Back in the living/family room you have two very comfortable and welcome 3 seaters lovely rugs on a hard floor and large square coffee table, ideal for the aforementioned jigsaws and games. And as if you need it a 32 inch HD TV and dvd player. Of this review already had you at hot tub then this is deffintley a holiday you can't afford to book if you like relaxation and pure comfort holidays...and I haven't even mentioned the lovely forest areas and large fishing lakes as well we want room to book that reminds me stay away from Foxglove...it's ours.

Can't wait to go back. Thank you to all the team that rescued us from what we thought was a holiday and made us have a real one. See you real soon. Tim, Lelsey Anthony, Bradley, Jack and Angel. ☺
