"The following day we visited a farm in the Herefordshire countryside to sample some local, organic veg. We then headed over to show the guys our Worcester restaurant and our new butchery, after a quick coffee at Method Roastery and a Salt Beef burger to take away the guys headed back towards London to catch their flight home."

PURITY BUNNY HOP!
A new regular on the Burger Shop menu, Bunny Hop is an extra hopped pale ale, it's a bold beer, which perfectly balances its low abv of 3.5%, pale malts and powerful hops.

We popped in for lunch today and I had the Welsh pulled lamb burger. It was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. Can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu - the lentil burger sounds great.

The food is of a very high quality, super tasty and the service is great. We’ve been a couple of times now and had a lovely time.

Several years ago, the craft burger craze came to Norway, and I personally experienced it with a gluttonous glee in Oslo in burger shops such as Munchies and Illegal Burger (which is if you ever are in Oslo you should look them up). So, when I moved to Hereford for college, I knew no one nor anything about Hereford, but wanted to treat myself on the very first day in this new unknown place. On I went into TripAdvisor to see what I could find, and I was not disappointed. There was a burger shop in town, and it was called A Rule of Tum, so in I went to this burger shop. I sat down and got my first burger of many. The Hereford Hop burger, and I was in love… This was a week before the students at Hereford colleges started the official socializing, and me being a bit impatient started spamming on the fb freshers page about meeting up in advance, when it was asked where I could not stop myself from going “I really would like another burger” and that’s how my second visit to the burger shop happened.

The food? Quality! I’ve eaten everything on their standard menu, and they change their special menu on a regular basis. The burgers are to this day the best ones I’ve ever eaten, ranging to juicy succulent and surprisingly crispy Hereford hop, to the Falafalburger I’ve tried them all. But the very best thing to look out for is in my opinion the BBQ sticky wings. I cannot recommend anything on their menu higher than this one side dish that they serve. It is tasty, soft, crispy and slides straight of the bone! Every time I ate their wing I felt like a cartoon character who stuff a whole chicken down his/her mouth and the you pull out nothing but the bone! I have never had that experience with anything I’ve eaten, least of all with chicken wings in my life! Not in Norway or anywhere else for that matter. Seriously, if any of you who reads this small clumsily written review of a small cosy burger shop in this small city comes through their door, forget what burger to go for, they are all good, which chips? Does not matter, they all good to. But do not skip on them wings, you must! Go for them wings!

Now I sit here three years later, about to graduate from HCA and move on from Hereford and the UK in search for new adventures, and oddly enough, Rule of Tum will remain among my fondest memories, not just because of the food but from the atmosphere and company that is there.

Popped in last night for my birthday tea, had the 'Worcester blue' (I think that's what it was called) and it was amazing!! Thank you for continuing to create amazing tasting burgers and also for catering for my son's allergies. You're all wonderful

User

My wife and I have eaten in the Worcester branch recently and as a result when we visited Hereford today it was an easy decision as to where to have lunch! Both outlets provide the same excellent level of service and food quality! Well done!

User

My husband had the pulled lamb burger and I had the garlic field mushroom burger. The flavour combination of my burger was delish, from the apple slaw to the tarragon mayo 😋😋😋. The ham hock croquets and sweet potato fries were also very tasty....can't vouch for the lamb burger although I did pinch a bit. Our meal did not disappoint 😊

User

I crave burgers more than any food & after a weekend of camping and visiting Hay Festival we went to the Burger Shop's Pop-up in Hay-on-wye after many recommendations from my Herefordian friends and it was possibly the best beef burger I've had all year! (I do eat a lot of burgers)

I had the special - beef burger with cheddar cheese and kimchi it was delicious. I have so much respect for any place that makes their own kimchi and the burger was perfectly cooked with a divine brioche bun and perfectly seasoned rosemary salt fries.

Totally excellent!

Having eaten at Burger Shop Worcester, when visiting Hereford it was a no-brainer where we were going to have a late lunch.

Farmer Tom burger, Beetroot Burger, fries, cheese curds and coleslaw. All was SUPER tasty and the coleslaw the best I’ve tasted ( can I have the recipe please ). Staff attentive without being over zealous.

Would definitely recommend and visit again next time in Hereford.

User

Have a rule of tum nearly every week, absolutely love the burgers and their cheese curds. Without a doubt the best burger I have had. Only ate in once only due to not having enough tables, that would be my only negative the restaurant needs to be bigger!

User

Genuinely the best burgers we've ever eaten - and we've eaten a lot of burgers! We had the hip burger and the chicken burger; both were fantastic. We also shared a side of chicken wings, which I generally don't like but these were incredible - tender, moist and great spicy BBQ flavour. Heartily recommend this place.

First time we have ever had food from burger shop and have got to admit it was amazing. We ordered on deliveroo and had our food within half hour def recommend

Being a huge fan of gourmet burgers and also having friends that speak very highly of The Burger Shop, I was excited for my first visit today. I was not disappointed. While the menu is small, it appears that the flavour combinations of the burgers are well thought out. Nice to see a specials menu too, I like the element of surprise with the potential of new specials available in future visits. I went for the farmer Tom double, rosemary chips and lamb croquettes and my wife had the Chimichurri special with sweet potato chips. The burgers were delicious and perfectly cooked. All elements of the burger worked well together in flavour and texture. The service was outstanding and we were tucking into our burgers within 15 minutes of ordering. I have previously eaten next door at The Bookshop and was extremely impressed so I expected a high standard. We will certainly be visiting again in the near future, many thanks

User

Amazing service super fast turn around,

Passionate staff and stuffing food I will defo recommend to any burger lover thank you burger shop,

No waiting in the cold for 45 mins for us

User

Absolutely amazing. The best burger I have ever had although to be fair Beefy Boys are only a tiny tiny bit behind. Hereford is lucky to have two awesome burger experts.

User

The Burger Bar was really good, fair priceing, attentive staff, loved my Farmers Burger!!,great sides, great beer!!,what's not to like!.

Good food and friendly service.

If you’re going to eat there at this time of year however, I suggest you bring a coat...or a duvet.

I think Jon Snow himself would have been cold in there last night.

Srsly, winter is here, guys. Buy some heaters.

Amazing burger, the lamb was gorgeous.

User

Been before and it was spectacular. Something lacking on Saturday night. Very busy so happy to get a seat. Unfortunately then had to wait 40 minutes for our order. Burgers were dry and not very special so sadly not worth the wait.

User

My partner and I have been a few times and have always enjoyed our evening. However on this occasion we both felt disappointed. We both had Hereford hop burger and shared fries, coleslaw and a special side, both had two drinks each, the bill came to £42.50, which we felt was expensive.

The service was rather over relaxed. No uniform, which is fine if they're smart, but we both felt they all looked rather scruffy, and none of the girls hair was tied back. Also the girls where cuddling by the kitchen counter, whilst we were waiting for our drinks, which had been forgotten about.

We hope you take on our comments and we look forward to hearing from you.

I have been to the burger shop quite a few times now. I am a vegan and therefore have the choice of the vegetarian options but they alter them to suit. On this occasion I had the new cauliflower burger. I wasn't able to have the bun, the coating on the cauliflower and a couple of other elements but i understood that. They said they would substitute these for a salad and pickled red cabbage. I have no issue with this at all.

When the meal came I was disappointed. The cauliflower was really nice (they grilled it instead for me) but the salad it came on was shocking. It was just lettuce leaves which must have been drenched in twice as much dressing that was needed. It was shiny and wilted and left a coating of grease in the mouth. I only ate the cauliflower on top and the side of chips I ordered.

Not once did someone come over to check if everything was ok with my meal. We asked for the bill and the meal was cleared away but nobody bothered to ask why I had left mine or was it ok?.

Once at the till I complained that I wasn't happy with my meal and didn't enjoy it. I wasn't happy to pay for it. The girl at the till said "as you are vegan you do still have to pay full price even though you didn't have all the elements". The issues was I didn't enjoy it. They still didn't ask me if I had enjoyed it even as it went in the bin. I'm surprised the chef didn't pick up on it or why the other waitress didn't pick up on it either.

My partner at this point intervened and said that I hadn't eaten it and they staff relented and I didn't have to pay.

I will still go back to the burger shop as I do normally have good service and good food there. I'm just really really disappointed and saddened that nobody seemed to care that I went eaten or most importantly enjoyed my food. As we paid nobody asked what they could have done better and not one of the staff said sorry.

Very unhappy overall this evening.
