A tip to preserve your caravan blinds- don't leave the sprung blinds down when not in use as they will lose their tension & go saggy. Draw curtains across instead.

Electric tripping out.

Caravan sites capacity and what can I run?
... First of all, you need to know what the circuit power rating is of the electric hook up. The power supply is usually either 10 amps or 16 amps so you then need to do your own calculations then. Read on each individual electrical appliance you have to see what the amp rating is then add together what the total is. In other words, if you are on a pitch with 16 amp rating and have a low voltage kettle with a 6 amp rating, a hair dryer with a 8 amps rating and George Foreman grill at 10 amps then you can guarantee that you will trip the circuit due to excessive overload as you are physically trying to consume 24 amps of power from a 16 amp supply but remember if you have no leisure battery on your touring caravan or motorhome you may be only producing 8amps! If you have a Leisure Battery and there is a power cut you still have 12v.
A touring caravan should be run with a leisure battery.

How many amps are my appliances producing?
Electric heater or oil filled radiator
1000w = 4amps
2000w = 8amps
3000w = 12amps
A household kettle on full boil = 8amps
Low amp kettle = 4amps
Hot water = 4amps
Charger 1-2amps
Why a Gas bottle is essential?
You need a gas bottle so you can balance everything as if you are running a high number of appliances you can switch your heating and fridge onto gas so not tripping out your electric. It is also recommended to have your caravan or motorhome checked by a qualified engineer. Check your engineers has the relevant qualifications as this is your families' safety.
