Burnage Parkrun

Not surprisingly the lake has grown overnight. We will be running the alternate course this morning - starting on the path rather than the grass. See you all soon!

#StormCallum has got wind and rain in store for us overnight according to the weather forecast. We've just done a course inspection and the 'lake' is already there so we are likely to be running our alternate course tomorrow. We will re-inspect in the morning and post another update. Please try and get down a little earlier tomorrow so you can hear the course briefing.

Doing the Manchester Half (or another race) on Sunday and resting on Saturday? Help us out and volunteer!
We don't have enough people for the run to go ahead at the moment, so we need you lovely people to put on a hi-viz.

Hands up if you’re running Manchester Area League Cross Country on Saturday! If you are then why not volunteer at parkrun first? Our roster is looking bare over the next few weeks so most roles are available. Let us know below which week and what role you fancy.

A rather small 'lake' today. We will be running the normal route - don't bring your best trainers as it's wet and a little muddy under foot.

The course isn’t currently flooded but if the forecast is correct we may be in for some heavy rain overnight. We’ll do a course inspection in the morning and make the decision then as to whether to utilise our alternate course again.

A big thank you to Rebecca, community champion at Tesco Tesco for donating two pay as you go phones to ensure our RDs and tail walkers can easily contact each other at parkrun.

Please don't forget that this Saturday is Katherine's last one as Event Director. Please come down and give her a great send off!

Even though the lake has gone (it had disappeared by Tuesday afternoon!) We want to trial our alternate ready for any bad weather that means we need to avoid the lake or the steps.
