Think "Calais Jungle" but with more cars. Came in the school holidays, and the 6m rule between pitches seems to magically disappear. Packed to the hilt, with neighbours on top of one another. Very boggy site even after a light shower. Pitches uneven and poorly maintained. The facilities were not clean, and despite the weather I would have expected the staff to have made more of an effort to keep things clean. The only time we saw them was when they came round daily checking we'd paid. Listed price is for a small tent 1 car and 1 adult. Everything else except dogs is extra. You can't book in advance and there are no marked pitches so you take a chance finding a spot no matter how far you've come. There is a cafe selling breakfast £12 and Sunday roast £9. In my honest opinion I'd visit one of the campsites in the New Forest. They are better maintained, you can book in advance, and there's more to do there.

Lovely campsite and friendly. Much better than usual bland UK campsite. Used the open fields as the main woodland area seemed quite busy and loud. Field really quiet, nice view of stars. Rental of firepuit for only 4 pounds is great. (Bring logs, they are very expensive at shop). Facilities good and clean. Usual UK camping slight dog issues (lack of leads etc) but campsite can only do so much, no real problems. Nice walks around campsite, everything else a short drive.

Fab place, lovely surroundings. Great for runners, walking and cycling. Forest lodge was great, clean, well equipped and had a hot tub. Towels and slippers supplied! Had a wonderful massage from Charlotte at purbeck retreats in our lodge. Will definitely make this a yearly event.
