The Devon warden team have spent the last 2 days at Roadford braving the rain and the wind to clear a large stretch of willow from Davey's bank to improve accessibility for anglers in the 2019 season. 200 yards done, just over a mile to go!!! - Sam

Our annual Spooktacular event on Wednesday evening went smoothly despite the rain shower. 17 families enjoyed a night walk to Lowery barn, carved pumpkins, constructed broomsticks, toasted marshmallows, decorated cakes, played the infamous flour game, along with apple bobbing, the gunge bowl and of course finishing off the evening with some spooky Dartmoor stories. Thank you to all our volunteers for making this event possible, and to Jacky for the excellent photos! 😀

Walk my boys here all the time and they absolutely love it. Great place for walking and relaxing by the water!

User

The quintessential west county at its best.

Indicative of this green and pleasant land, on a sunny day.

The walk around Burrator Reservoir is suitable a variety of skill and all ages. Good sign posts and information boards.

There is a good area for dog walking.

Loads of place to sit and loose yourself in vista.

Good parking

Bring 20p for toilets.

Perhaps could colour code routes or signpost routes particularly around the weir?

User

Thank you to the two amazing gentlemen volunteers in the discovery centre who helped me rescue my car keys from behind a false wall in the toilets today - they were both superstars and I really appreciated their help.

User

Now don't get me wrong, we're not avid gym buddies, we're not the trainer brigade but what a fabulous place for a walk to get the best start for the beginner who would like to start to feel a bit fitter, live a little better and attempt the Midnight walk for St. Lukes! Everyone gives you a nod, or a smile be it on a bike or a walk and its great for the fitbit buddies to get your target, whatever it may be all in fantastic surroundings! Xx

User

Love this place but avoid on a sunday the loop road is full of idiots letting there young children on bikes and on foot and dogs running loose on a public highway. You drive past and you get a bloody shit look why are you driving on this road they are thick has f...ck thinking its a bloody park or public footpath

User

Love burrator , the kids always return home tired after the walk , great place to waste a beautiful day , and the only money you spend is on icecream the only problem we encountered was trying to locate a doggy poop bin xx but we did find one in the end !! X

User

Just love going around it, as it makes for a nice run, walk or cycle

User

It's hard not to believe this is a natural water mass, the nature surrounding it abounds. It's been a favourite place for me since childhood.

User

I adore Dartmoor! Having lived on the doorstep in Plymouth all my life, it's a precious place for my family to visit often. When my children were small we walked for miles on the moor, enjoying its wild and beautiful vistas. I now get to enjoy it with my grandchildren!

User

Great place to go for a walk and enjoy the views from around the reservoir, plenty of parking all round the reservoir, need your wellys as there are parts that are muddy, but well worth it

User

Great afternoon at Burrator discovery centre open day. Made fidget spinners, bug house, willow dragonfly, campfire food, cob oven pizza and more! They are a really lovely group of volunteers - I'd really recommend going to their activities :) bat, moth activist etc

User

Go see it & the surroundings - more than worth the trip either as a volunteer or a general visitor.

User

User

Lovely relaxing place to take your mind off of life's pressures!!! Beautiful views too

User

Fab place great views but you 100% need wellies as I fell in the river in walking boots and got wet shoes , socks and trousers , and it's rather boggy and squishy on the left side of the reservoir from the bridge
