Had a lovely moment with the gorgeous costumes on display at the Crowns & Gowns exhibition in the Lady Chapel... I really wanted to stroke the dresses but we all know that’s not allowed - so I just feasted my eyes on them. I couldn’t honesty say I had a favourite as they were all so gorgeous, and perfect for the parts they were worn in, but the gown made for The Crown caught my eye simply because of the fine sparkle! Beautifully made costumes - huge inspiration to any buddin...g costumier... Don’t expect to see a huge amount of costumes on display as this is an exclusive nod to the films that were shot in the cathedral Well worth a visit 🥰

Here are some men’s styles I probably won’t be making.... 🤭

It’s been a phenomenal year in the Workshop and Burr’s hands are taking a much needed rest..... Therefore, due to absolute capacity, the order book for any bespoke/alterations & repairs is now closed for 2019 and the Workshop will close on Wednesday 27th November, reopening on Thursday 16th January 2020.
Classes, consultations & fittings booked into early/mid December are all unaffected.
... Any enquires, appointments and jobs for the New Year, do please drop a message here or telephone, at the moment there’s still time for consultations to be slotted into this side of Xmas up to 19th December.

Hope you all haven’t been too drenched in the last couple of days!!
Just to say there’s a lead time with alterations/repairs Any jobs coming in from tomorrow will be completed & ready for collection from Friday 25th October 😊

The Workshop is closed until Monday 7th October due to an off-site project.. Burr can still be contacted here however and will be back at the sewing machine and making appointments from the above date. If you need a job doing during this time and don’t know of anybody who can do it, please do message me here and I can pass on to you details of alternative seamstresses 😊

The order book for Prom Dress alteration is now closed... I’m so sorry, but there simply isn’t any more physical room in the calendar to accommodate this service in time for the events If you are looking to have dresses altered for your weddings in August/September there are limited spaces available in July, so this is offered on a ‘first come first served’ basis There is a waiting list of three months regarding bespoke wear, so if you are thinking of a special event outfit f...rom October-December, please do get in touch as soon as possible to secure an appointment - the calendar is beginning to look busy for the Autumn !

When you’re working on some antique drapes - you open them up to discover swathes of hibernating ladybirds... Now they’re flying around the workshop and I’ve had to open the window... Go and hibernate somewhere else!! I feel awful 😳
