Bursted Manor Riding Centre Description
We are positioned in the beautiful Pett Bottom valley, which is a small settlement about five miles south of Canterbury. James Bond lived here with his aunt after his parents died in the fictional books by Ian Fleming.
Bursted Manor Riding Centre is situated here surrounded by ancient woods, bridle ways, open fields with centres of history. The valley hills offer spectacular views over the surrounding countryside.
At Bursted Manor Riding Centre, we offer something to suit everyone. You can hack or trek in this lovely countryside or if you prefer, riding lesson in our floodlit all-weather indoor arena or the larger outdoor arena. We also offer equestrian courses and childrenβs parties
Bespoke riding can be arranged following a discussion with the Pam Tombs.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our much loved horses and ponies. Our horses have been trained by our chief instructor Becky Tombs. The varied selection of horses makes it possible to cater for beginners to experienced riders of all ages. Many of our horses and ponies have been very successful at competition and are now enjoying life working within the riding school
Our staff are chosen based not just on experience, but on their passion and their love of horses. In addition, all of our staff are BHS qualified, CRB checked and First Aid trained. Our team of extremely professional instructors will work with you to provide the riding experience that you can count on, whether this is a relaxed fun lesson, a focused technical lesson or a hack in our glorious countryside.
Bursted Manor Riding Centre is an approved Pony Club centre. You do not need your own horse /pony to join a Pony Club centre, therefore much of the pleasure of horse care, responsibility and experience can be replicated without the commitment or expense of being a horse /pony owner.

The pony club members made a list of their goals for 2019 yesterday, it will be fun to see how many they tick off!
We also have our first goal for 2020....a Pony Club trip to Miami Beach to watch the Global Champions Tour!!

We had a sad start to the week this week π’...we said goodbye to Strawberry who has gone to horse heaven ππ she first came to us back in 2004 and has taught countless people to ride and given many of our customers alot of fun memories...we will miss herπππ
Thank you to our farrier Lewis Knaggs for this years creation! 6 reindeer made with our school horses shoes...now to decide where to put them!ππ
Huge thank you to The Dog at Wingham for hosting our yard Christmas meal this week! ππ We had a fun night with great food and it's always fun trying to recognise people in 'normal' clothes! βοΈβοΈ

It was a lovely experience to go hacking with Bursted Manor...highly recommended.
Great set up very friendly staff and lovely forward but safe happy horses in a lovely quiet setting mainly off road which was ideal. I run my own trekking centre (Derbyshire Pony Trekking) and was very impressed with the whole experience. Thanks guys for looking after me and my husband οΏ½
Fantastic beach ride for me and my friend today! Freya and her mum couldn't do enough for us! What lovely people and wonderful horses. We will be back
Fabulous riding! Lots of choice of hacking and always new places to explore on longer day rides. Super quality horses and really friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Bursted Manor riding centre kindly gave me the chance to work with horses and gain confidence when I'd never even touched a horse before. 11 years later I will ride new horses ive never met before and am capable of taking horses to and from fields with confidence. All the skills Pam and Becky gave me I use now and are often noticed and complimented on from other teachers and riders and I feel privileged and proud to of had my first hand experience at Bursted. I highly recommend this professional riding school.
