A bit off a wet and muddy job this morning of welding gate hooks to a newly build sheds girders. The job was taken out fully mobile providing our own electric. Working alongside Manor Grange construction #manorgrangeconstruction

It's been a long time in posting but it's been a busy time, here's a couple of jobs that I have done and got photos for. Firstly was a parrot quorentine I got asked to build with 7 10 ft wide bays by 10ft high by 15ft deep, these backed on to another shed and sat on a full concrete plinth. There estimated build time was 1.5 days to 2 and from starting at 10 and finishing in the dark at 11 got the job started and finished in a day. The second job was to replace an aluminium Louvre with a steel one to make it harder to break in.

Here's a muck grab I repaired a few weeks back. Where it was pushed in to a much heap and the tines just give way so I fabricated and replaced the bottom. Then plated the front up to give it abit more strength .

Abit of something for a Sunday. Repairing the hydraulic legs on a log trailer as the movement on the arms has cracked the welds of a bodger. Spent time doing it right and it only has to be done once

A bit of a change with some onsite welding I carried out the other day of extending the chassis legs of a 7.5 ton wagon to be able too securely fit a bigger compartment on the back. The job is still to be completed

At 4 ton tipping trailer came in want a set of sides but another set on top as a set of greedy boards so they can be removed right down to make it a flat trailer again. This dolly trailer came in with badly warn wheel bearings no lights and no brakes. It started off with a broken hub then went to making a new rear axle and fitting. The owner decided to bite the bullet and carry on by fitting new bearings all round and two sets of wheel studs also a full set of lights and setting the brakes up. Furthermore the drawbar was baldy warn and bent( this was making it uncontrollable on the road and crabbing) , as the holes for the pins were oveled out and about the wear through, so there was a new drawbar fabricated. Once it was all finished the customer turned up to pick it up and check he was happy with the work carried out. Another happy customer for Burton's contractors is what we like to see. Nothing leaves the workshop unless it is 100% right 👌💪

A job of swapping out and old axle for a stronger one to go on a straw trailer, the stronger one was 180mm to narrow so it was lengthened and the brackets were removed from the old one and welded on the new one

Here's a job I carried out for a customer last night where he had a problem where his knotty wood wouldn't split so I welded an axe head on to his splitter before the main head to start the split off

Another load of steel, another job on the go 💪

Not all welding has to be done in a workshop. At this job I returned to fit a home made gate catch to a barrier I made and was installed earlier

Been a busy day today with picking up a new Hilux to try out for a couple of days. From going past Newcastle to bring my 14ft trailer that’s been on hire and a generator back, to going to Driffield at last minute to pick up an old tractor for a good customer

So it’s been a fairly busy weekend at burtons contractors. To start off on Saturday I received a message off a friend to see if I could take their sold car to it’s new owner. Then to follow on Sunday, there was a 17ft combine knife to move down the coast from Bridlington to salt burn. Finally a long day of 15 hours on the road today to deliver 2 generators one Peterborough to catterick garrison then from Hartlepool to Nottingham so after 640 miles today the job is done 💪👍
