Bury Farm Summer Regionals 6th-9th August
What a fabulous four days!
Scorching temperatures on the first two days fortunately cooled from Wednesday and we were actually pleased to see some light rainfall today!
... To all of those who have qualified for Stoneleigh in September, and for those who fulfilled personal bests or achieved results that they never thought possible this week, a huge Congratulations from the Bury Farm team.
Thank you to each and every one of the competitors who joined us for our Summer Regionals this week. It's been a lot of fun!

What a wonderful evening at the Bury Bareback Charity Challenge. A huge thank you to you all and for making this special event possible. There was such a wonderful atmosphere and so many young riders who were meeting up at your event for the first time and supported each other like old friends! What a wonderful way to remember someone and celebrate them !

User

Thank you to the whole team at Bury Farm! We arrived Friday and from the minute we arrived we were welcomed to our stable, lovely and clean! Everyone from the evening staff cleaning, the restaurant (excellent food and value for money), tack shop really helpful when emergency girth was required!) and all other members of the bury farm team were helpful and friendly! We will definitely be back and thank you again! Anne n Mel xx (competing at c and t champs).

User

My first trip to Bury Farm and the weather was awful! The staff could not have been more helpful, the stable was lovely and the main arena held up brilliantly in all the rain. Thank you to everyone at Bury Farm I will definitely be back!

User

It's a very friendly place that holds lots of different shows and clinics and don't charge a fortune to enter plenty of parking and warm up areas.A nice tack shop with a bit of everything in it,plus they do good food

User

Had good day! Well organised and a pleasant experience, an absolute joy to watch my fiancée compete at this venue.

User

Great place. Lovely staff, always have a great day there

User

Great first pony premier here. Fab indoor stable with automatic water, Makes all the difference. Nice stable manager on arrival. Helpful secretary staff. Then lovely warm up and gate lady's. Even held my pony so I could walk the course with my son.

Def will be back

Fantastic venue, great food, friendly staff

User

Fantastic place helpful staff the lady who does the numbers who gets everyone in the ring on time is fantastic.

Only one thing is the showers when ur there for 4 days and the showers aren't great one didn't work and the rest was cold.

Even if we had to pay for a hot shower I would not mind just so it's warm :)

Would have loved a warm/hot shower after a long day in the cold.

Other then that fantastic place and will definitely be back.

User

A lovely venue with friendly team. Highly recommended

Thank you to you all.

User

Pros: My horse had a nice stable with plenty of straw; friendly, helpful parking stewards; excellent arenas; warm cafe with cheerful staff.

Cons: being told it was fine to bring a tent then told I’d have to pitch it on tarmac; water in shower block barely lukewarm and loos poorly tended (not necessarily your fault but def not mine!!)

Excellent competition venue but will book Premier Inn next time!!

User

All staff were very friendly and chatty. We were pointed in the right direction from the start. Very well run alongside british dressage. Food was a little pricey for what was on offer.

All arenas were very well maintained.

Outdoor temporary stables were ok, I managed to draw the short straw and get a stable with no lighting in, and clean straw had been put over the top of old. Luckily we had no rain as I think they would have flooded.

I had been told via email there were was facilities for my horse (being white) but when arrived only liveries could use it.

Would definitely visit again, hopefully for my quest final again.

User

rented the cross country course.

booked in with a very polite lady, although she was the only one that was polite, quite a few of the staff seemed quite rude and unhelpful.

once set out struggled working out the start of the course. no directions in any way shape or form so took a while to get going.

fences are in good condition although some could do with a re paint. ground was perfect.

quite a few very similar jumps, and no steps. mkec is the same price as what bury farm charge with a much larger variety of fences.

overall a nice experience, and very easy as its only a 15 minute hack away so will come in handy over the summer for a play around.

User

Arenas and surfaces great. Shame the same can't be said about the toilet & shower facilities. It seems I'm not the only one to comment on this - see older posts.

No where near enough toilets to cater for the volume of people at the Team Quest Champs. Broken toilet seat in one. An inch of water on the floor in another. Flush not working in another one. Showers appalling. Thank goodness for baby wipes.

Temporary toilets should be brought in & some situated in the lorry park, when big events are taking place. Not all lorries have toilets.

User

People were lovely & venue has great potential however toilet/shower facilities are in a desperate need of a revamp (filthy, broken rails & no cleaning utensils available such as clean mop etc). Overhaul of the restaurant menu & prices is needed, £7.50 for a few frozen chips 1 egg & 2 thin slices of Ham). Stable facilities are ok if ur indoor but outdoor stables need a good clean out (grass growing thru the straw So not sure wen last cleaned out?). Car park is full of pot holes & hook up costs are extortionate. So much potential is time/but if money is re-invested. Luckily the people & our club holding the event there managed to not let us dwell too much on this but won't be looking to return.

User

May thoughts exactly. .. never been to this venue before not likely to return. Opted out of having a shower. Lucky only 1 night stop over. Ladies toliet in a terrible mess... could not flush it. No doubt could be an amazing place. Food was rubbish for the money. £2 for a bottle of tango...! my pony was indoors in the stables... my stable front was tidy after I had a damn good sweep up.. no one else bothered. Bedding was deep & clean, shame about the poo splats all up the wall. Mud everywhere after the rain Sunday morn.. dirty pony after a leg stretch.

User

I had organised and paid for a stable for my horse for two nights but on arrival was told that I hadn't been allocated a stable. It was lucky that we arrived early enough as there was one spare in the indoor barn. However when I got into the stable and pulled down the shavings that were already there the banks were sodden, black and full of poo. Not what you want to be fixing after a 9hr journey from Scotland or leave your horse in. I don't think it's too much to expect staff to check that people have left the beds in a habitable state for the next horse.

User

Would never go back. POYS was a joke. Nails & glass in bark chippings. Our pony got a nail in her hoof. I know you can't help the weather, but stables were flooded. Warm up areas had way to many ponies warming up for it to be safe, we were unable to warm our pony up. Showers were disgusting. Never ever again. Guys who towed us off the muddy field were excellent though. Very disappointed, we came home early.

User

What a joke ! Arrived for the bareback jumping at 7 and all seats were taken or being held for friends. No suggestion other than goes upstairs even tho my mum is disabled. Very rude staff. We turned around and left only to queue for over an hour to get out through Slapton. What a badly organised event !!
