Stayed here last night on my way to Orkney islands to install a Bushman wood fired oven. the staff were great and the rooms newly refurbed clean and v comfortable Today i get to drive up through the Scottish highlands and then on to john o groats to catch the ferry

Well its been an exciting 4 months. After 20 yrs we have finally moved our Bushman wood fired oven factory and workshops to new bigger premises. Just 3min off junction 6 of the M5 motorway its now even easier to come and visit. The one thing we could not bring with us was our fab dome cooking school So we spruced up our wooden chalet previously our offices and turned it into a fab and cozy space complete with a Bushman wood /gas combo
A great space to demo and teach up t...o 6 students at a time.

This just in from a customer who attended a discovery consultation
It’s a bit of a story, but I was looking for a wood fired oven for my garden instead of the usual BBQ that costs a fortune for the meat and also everyone’s enjoying there selves while you’re cooking. I am also on the brink of redundancy from a job that I’ve been in for the last 24 years so I am looking for a new career path. When I found Jay’s website the penny dropped that this was not only my garden solutio...n but it could be my career solution also. I contacted Jay and had brief telephone conversation, it was apparent that he could point me in the right direction so we agreed a date for me to visit his workshop and discuss my options. I have spent my whole working life in heavy engineering (35 years) but feel the need for a change. I have no experience within the food industry but I’m willing to listen to good advice. Myself and my wife have visited Jay today 22/10/2018 to view his operation and to discuss our way forward with our mobile pizza business. We met Jay and had a fantastic chat about the whole business model that was best for us. Jay gave advice on all the business model that would fit what we discussed. He asked what we were looking to achieve and advised/ discussed in great depth the pitfalls and success of the mobile pizza 🍕 business. We have left with a great insight to where we go from here. We will be moving very quickly to start our new business, and we will be definitely purchasing our oven from Jay and soaking up all his knowledge of this business. Don’t get stuck this winter with this handy easy to do idea
Well happy snow day everyone Hope you all had fun.
... Here is a top tip for from the bushman at this time of year .
Most of the time when you get stuck it’s because you can’t get any traction on the ice So I put a small bag of gravel in the car so you can sprinkle it in front of your wheels .
Ok I’m a lot more industrial than that the roads around the factory can get bad so I’ve got a small trug full in the back of my van .
If you put and emergency bag of gravel in the boot it means you will be able to get home.
Give it a bash you may never need it but if you do you will be grateful that you did and you will always remember the Bushman. Of course if you don’t have any and you do need it you will remember what the Bushman said to you and wish you had.

Ribs and brisket overnight.......wow! Am blown away, this came out better than I could have hoped After shooting this video I added the glaze and wrapped the ribs in plastic to go in the freezer. I drained the juices and put into the bag with the brisket so that it could re-absorb all the loveliness. I am standing here salivating and drooling over the results. Enjoy!!

It’s a sad day here at Bushman Wood Fired Ovens After 19 yrs the oldest known bushman burner meets its end This burner was one of the first 20 I ever made and was given to my landlady as a gift in the first month of bussiness Boy have we come a long way since we made this bad boy It met its end when it was moved to do some garden maintenance ... The gardener did not realise how heavy it was and fell over Unfortunately even as much as I would love to try to bring it back to life for prosperity it’s well past any viable repair RIP bad boy

Well it was a full weekend. Catering for 300 at a friends 60 birthday party on Saturday night Banged out 200 perfect pizzas in 2and a half hrs . The dragon has finaly got the knack cos those pizzas were banging. Fab crunch all round. Then on Sunday up early and cooked up a storm for my daughters birthday party Succulent meaty babyback ribs smoked in apple wood and slow roasted for 4 hrs also did chicken tikakasala soft f and pipers farm ruby red beef sliders on brioche buns... Wow Nothing left All gone Check out the bark on these baby's No they are not burnt far from it just tasty goodness Also check out the rib rack I made now I can stack them up 10 rib racks at a time bring it on

What more can be said than all the reviews that have gone before me, the discovery consultation was great and I could have stayed for hours longer even though I was not well and the drive had really taken it out of me.

Jays advice really made me think about the viability of what I was planning and I am now back to planning what is best for my family instead of making mistakes that would have caused us no end of trouble.

Travelled from Sheffield today for what I consider to be a milestone in setting up my new business! I wasn't really sure what to expect but got instant good vibes from the moment I pulled up. An experience worth travelling twice the distance and more. Kidderminster is a long way from Burnsall, in the Yorkshire Dales - but all of my research told me that the trip would be worthwhile, and I wasn't disappointed.

Just got back to York from my initial consultation with Jay. What an amazing man he is. I went there with my wife Liz, kind of knowing I was gonna work with him. Came away more sure that ever. He didn't do the hard sell, but gave us the brutal truth - facts, evidence and tons of ideas. If you want bullshit and ego stroking, go elsewhere.

He is unflinching and frank, and helped us get a clearer picture of where we want to be going.

I've just come back from an excellent seminar with Jay and Simon. I've been in the catering trade for many years now but, to be honest, know nothing about pizza and, more importantly, pizza ovens! Jay spent over two hours giving me invaluable advice about what sort of oven I need, what sort of transport would be the best and sound advice on the prep, storage and sourcing of all ingredients needed. On top of all that he had excellent practical advice on the type of operation that would be most profitable matched to the experience that I have. I have gone into partnership with my partner and my son to set up a wood fired pizza business. After extensive research on people out there selling ovens and trailers we decided to contact Jay Emery. He invited to a consultation day at his factory and within 20 minuites we could tell he really knows this business inside and out.

Only one of us had. experience in the catering business and because we were investigating time and money in our new project we needed to know for sure it was going to succeed. For many years I have had a wood fired pizza oven on my wishlist for the garden. It's become a bit of a joke with family and friends as it is so often talked about but has never materialised. Having moved house last year I decided to resolve this and after much searching came across Bushman Wood Fired Ovens and Jay. The advice given on the site and via the emails sent was great and I contacted Jay to arrange a consultation. On a very grey Saturday (with daughter in tow) I drove 1.5 hours to Jay's house to meet him and discuss my plans in more detail. Jay's knowledge and passion were evident from the start. He was very welcoming and showed a real interest in what I was looking to achieve and the types of things I wanted to use the oven for. The food he provided as a taster was delicious, the ribs were especially good! I would highly recommend taking the time to visit Jay and benefit from his experience in both domestic and commercial setups. The journey home was spent discussing plans for our own oven and the great food we were going to create in it.

Being an established event caterer operating in a different field I thought I was pretty clued up but Jay and Simon saved me from making a costly mistake of several thousand pounds just in our initial five minute telephone conversation. The ensuing discovery consultation was incredibly informative and enjoyable. So much so, that I think our 'two hour' slot stretched to something like three and a half! Without hesitation I can say to anyone thinking of starting a business based around a wood-fired oven that the discovery consultation is the best two hours you can spend. A two hour consultation with Jay & Simon is a must, if you are serious about starting your wood fired business.

They are so passionate about what they do and Jay literally has every answer!

We just wish we had gone to see him sooner instead of forking out £1000's for a competitors oven for practice. We could have saved time and money and we would have been up and running 12 months ago.
