IT'S LONELY OUT THERE Being in business for yourself is always a very demanding and challenging part of the life of an entrepreneur. When you need sensitive business or personal advice who do you talk to? Many entrepreneurs find that they are sometimes reluctant to talk to their regular advisors such as their accountant, lawyer, banker or even their spouse. As a result they just kept it inside them and struggle along by themselves. It's often a lonely journey. Recognizing this problem, we launched a new concept in support for owner / managers of small and medium size businesses. It's called Business Round Table. It's a series of self help groups of entrepreneurs neurs. Started by in Canada, Business Round Table is modelled after the Young Presidents' Organization, Presidents' Forum Groups. Those groups have been operating for many years giving great benefits to YPO members throughout the world. In Business Round Table, each group of 8 to 12 members meets monthly for three hours to discuss business issues. The members of each group are carefully selected so that there are no business ness or personality conflicts. One of the members of each group is appointed the group Moderator. Their task is to use special group dynamic skills and techniques provided by the Business Round Table organizers, to ensure the maximum effectiveness of the discussions. The Moderator is trained by the Business Round Table staff in a series of training sessions. Members pay an monthly fee of £100 to belong. One of the key elements is that the discussions are held in total and absolute confidentially. Each member is pledged to confidentiality and signs a Confidentiality Contract where they commit never to divulge any of the information revealed during the Business Round Table meetings.
