This is a good pub and restaurant. If you are a real ale fan they normally have only one real ale on but it does change from time to time.

Have never been disappointed about the quality and quantity of the food servings.

Staff are very friendly and willing to assist.

All round, very good.

User

Oh dear, just what Rugby needed ...... another Pizza and fast food grill instead of the a la carte restaurant that it was. Still there are only about 8 places in Rugby you can go and eat pizza in. What a challenge that must be for the chef?

Went in and walked back out again after waiting for someone to find a table let alone a menu.

A short walk from the canal for visitors, but don't expect anything special.

User

I found the butlers Leap is now under new management .

My first time at this lovel clean and Morden trendy pub,

It is set in a lovely quite area and plenty of parking.

My husband and I had the Sunday lunch.

I definitely recommend a Sunday lunch speaking from experience .

I can see this has not had many reviews, and not recent ones either. We went Saturday night, ad-hoc and was shown straigt to a table, maybe the recent bad reviews has affected trade? We were attended to almost immediately for drinks order and left to read the menu. Drinks arrived in sufficient time and food was ordered.

Food arrived as and when you would expect, was delicious, well cooked, well prepared and well presented. Dessert was ordered and eaten, staff were pleasant and friendly, we really can not fault the place and will certainly be visiting again at some point in the future.

User

Friendly staff, comfortable place and lovely food. Been there twice this week and both times the staff were friendly and helpful. Last night our waitress was Andreea and she was so lovely. Took time to chat with me about the food which was lovely. I had steak skewer on Monday and the lime and coriander salmon last night. I can recommend either of those dishes as both were stunning. Can't wait to go back with family and friends.

User

Upon arrival we were shown to a table and told food waiting time would be half an hour. Waitress took our orders, checked it again with us, came back 10 minutes later to check our order again and actually read it to us again 5 minutes later! After an hour our food eventually came only for one meal not prepared! Was told they would get it to us as quickly as they could while the rest of us ate our meals. . The food was really lovely and was told we would not be charged for the late food and we could order deserts free of charge. The waitress was a really nice lady but the staff seemed like they were running round chasing their tails not sure what they should be doing. A real shame because our meals were really nice, just service needs a good shake up.

User

The menu was not exciting and the food was edible but dull. It seems this chain has the same owners as Table Table, so Butler's Leap needs Tabletable's experts to review the menus and the food quality. My Chicken Mikhani had nearly a pint of sauce, mildly curried, with only 7 small pieces of chicken and rice and two very leathery bits of naan bread. Fortunately there are many other places to eat, and only a few Whitbred Inns.

User

The last days of the brand. Marstons arrive soon. Many specials not available. The starter was good, mains ok. Oven chips poor. Service excellent and cheerful. The solitary real ale was excelllent. Great base to build on. We will be back.

User

The food was of a reasonable standard, however the portion size on the mixed grill I had left a lot to be desired. The steak was no bigger than the sausage, not even a quarter of a chicken breast, and I eventually found the gammon which was hidden under the fried egg, chips were frozen and had been overcooked. A couple of mushrooms and a spoonful of peas. For £15 I feel it was extremely poor value for money. Won't be coming back as I think there are better meals at other pubs in Rugby giving much better value for money.

User

The food & service were second to none, all the staff were all friendly & attentive. The toilets though were much to be desired. One of the gents toilets though was completely closed & the other one near the bar was substandard, ie no lock on cubicle door, cold mild spray of water coming from both the taps.

User

I’m not one to complain but i went for dinner this evening with my grandma, firstly there was no one around the bar area, so had to wait 5 minutes to be seated, secondly when my grandma politely mentioned that my pizza was burnt the waitress rolled her eyes and said ‘yea it’s been in the oven’. lastly the waitress bought my dessert out on the tiniest plate the cake was bigger than the plate and were was I meant to put the ice cream? Normally I do have a lovely time here but tonight was a bit poor if I’m honest.

User

Food was of higher end quality than what one would expect of a pub chain, and the venue was nicely presented. Unfortunately I felt that the portion size was lacking, so went to McDonalds afterwards to top up. Now I am on the larger side or the diet scale however my wife doesn't have a big appetite and she agreed, great food, but not enough of it!

User

So my chicken had hair in it , my breaded mushrooms were that hard that it flew off my fork, the steaks were not cooked it was still mooing and they ran out of fries ! We waited an hour for our food! The staff were friendly but not trained up in complaints when we said we were not satisfied manager had to get involved straight away ! I'm really gutted because it is such a pretty pub but I would not recommend food unfortunately !!!

User

Disappointed. Liked it when it was table table/whitbread. Really gone downhill now it's changed to Marston's. After being informed what wasn't on the menu, when our order was eventually taken were told there were no roasts left at all, so quickly chose alternatives, of which three were not available! Asked no ice in a drink, when it came there was a shed load! Shockingly poor. Will not be coming back and will spread the word....

User

A little disappointing. The food was generally good and sufficient quantity. However the 'booking' had been lost, but they did manage to accomodate us. Two of the beers were not available and another was off before we left. Service was slow although our staff member for the evening was pleasant and seemed to be trying to do her best. Just a main course and a dessert but we were there over two and a half hours.

User

thought things were not going to be good when we arrived and our booking wasn't even in the book, not to worry as plenty of seats...ordered drinks, arrived, barely warm coffee so sent it back...ordered food with starters to come out with main meal....cutlery arrived with the last customers food still on one of the forks, exchanged for a clean one....food arrived , luke warm oven chips and gravy to match with one meal....what appeared to be undercooked fish on one of the other plates and a tough stake on another...no sign of the starters or a waitress to complain to. When a waitress eventually appeared and we asked where the rest of the food was the reply was "oh are you still waiting for that" the same waitress who took the order AND delivered the food, as we had nearly finished our meal told her to forget it. Didn't even bother ordering any sweets as didn't want to tempt fate any more. will we return ....I very much doubt it !!!! forgot to add, went to Maccy D's for a McFlurry for dessert...was lovely !!!!

User

not sure where to start. slow service then when it did come out my daughters pizza had a dead fly on it. burgers were rock hard. yes all main meals were removed from bill. never eat there again

User

Wow how poor was that service! If you want better service then KFC will top the charts! Ordered our food and received starter with waiter apologising for the wait as the kitchen is busy! Prawn cocktail in an nearly empty restaurant!!!! The restaurant started filling up, I watched as people who came in well after us started receiving food. The couple next to us even complained how long they had been waiting and they came in 50 minutes after us! We were told we were the next 2 tables and it taking so long because I had ordered 1 starter! When the waiter then started serving the table of 8 with food who had order food over an hour after us I asked the waiter to speak to the manager! After having to ask 3 times and 2 people i received the scapegoat of the manager is busy and will not see you! (Isn't that your job!) He eventually came to the other side of bar but refused point blank to go some where quiet to speak about service and food (that stuff you put on the bar was not food and certainly was not cooked how it was asked for) I then announced to people in bar that YOU AS A MANAGER did not want to do this in private and that they will have to hear what I have to say! Your attitude to complaints and your bar staffs general conduct shows that you have no regard for the customer.

A manager is there to manage things and to sort problems to the point of resolve! You did neither!

I will never eat in this establishment again and will not be recommending this place to any friends or family. Trip advisor, Facebook and all other social media are all a great tools in saying how good service and food is! Just to point out that you may not of liked me for what I said about your service but i am not going to lose anything! Without customers your nothing!!

User

Worse Christmas meal we'd ever eaten and the waiter didn't take us seriously when we told him so either! Avoid this place if I was you! The stuffing was completely inedible as it was rock hard and I jokingly asked the waiter for an angle grinder to cut it up. But he just laughed instead of seeing what the problem was. The carrots were cold, soggy and tasteless. The Turkey was thick and chewy. The pigs in blankets were so raw I'm surprised they weren't still oinking. The gravy left a film in my mouth. A total waste of £15. We did eat eat most of it as we were starving and got nowhere with our hints to the sarcastic waiter. We didn't stay for the sweet though and went else where. I put my review of this place on FB and lots of other friends and had a terrible experience here too. I feel quite icky thinking about it. No customer care and quality control. Yuck!
