We returned home on Friday from a holiday with you. We return every year, with our goddaughter. We had a fantastic time, would just like to say a big thank you to dom, Liam and Barry on the security team who had to come out to our caravan late Thursday night. Super job. Entertainment was great, weather was beautiful fabulous holiday.

We love it here! So much for all the family to do regardless of the weather so there’s never a dull moment. Paying for a dining package is a great way to give mum a rest from the cooking. The whole holiday is well worth the money.

We have been to butlins several times before and it gets better every year. Thanks to Tesco vouchers we stayed in new west lake village and the accommodation was awesome! The resort itself was clean and tidy and despite it being the school holidays the staff worked hard to reduce queues and were really helpful with advice on where to go and what to do. It offers the right combination of peaceful accommodation with all mod cons and exciting activities to keep kids entertained ! Loads of food options including a fully equipped kitchen so could cook at the chalet if you wanted- my hubby did a roast! And we could relax on our decking and watch the wildlife in peace and quiet whilst the kids enjoyed the pool - still looking good after all these years despite the crowds due to the torrential rain. The circus was awesome too and there was lots to do.

Thanks to everyone involved at butlins for making our holiday so good despite the dismal British weather. Keep up the good work x

Still here. All 3 of my children (6,5 and 2 year old) love it so much here. This is our 3rd year here and will come back each year as there is so much to do on site no matter what the weather. Staff are amazing so friendly and interactive. Thank you x

Reading some other reviews on here, I cannot believe we went to the same place. We had an amazing break at Butlins Minehead and will definitely be coming back. There is so much to do, you don’t need to venture off of the site. I have a variety of ages of children and it is rare to find somewhere that everyone can do what interests them whether that be more physical activities or simply watching some amazing acts at a variety of venues. The food was excellent with a great choice at reasonable prices (the Italian pizza and pasta house was fantastic.)

The accommodation was excellent for silver standard; comfortable beds, three large bedrooms, full sized kitchen and living/dining room but to be honest, we hardly spent any time there as we were always busy. The bonus was getting to watch Stephen Mulhern and meet him for a photo afterwards, which was one of the reasons we went in the first place.

We did not see any trouble on site at all and if there were any problems there was always a member of staff on hand to resolve the issue. We are regular Haven/Park Holiday visitors so I suppose we gauge holiday parks on some of their sites and as far as we were concerned, it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

It was our first time at butlins Minehead and I can honestly say we had the time of our lives, so much to do for the kids day and night. Entertainment was amazing, people were amazing and staff were amazing. We cannot wait to come back again next year. Would definitely recommend it to everyone....

Family of 4.... Just came back from our midweek break and it was fantastic. Wish the rides were open later if I’m honest but that’s just because we had so much fun we didn’t want to leave. All the staff work really hard and do their up most to make your stay welcome. We stayed in the bungalow with patio and it was a fab room but shower wasn’t great. We’ve already booked to go back and staying in the lakeside chalet.... can not wait to go back.

We wouldn’t do dining again either as the times didn’t suit us for the evening shows. Overall fantastic place and we prefer it to going aboard

this is my second visit to Minehead ( 5yrs ago 1st visit) so was excited to see any changes, but only changes was the new lake side Lodge when I booked my break ( booked from booking shop at Skegness Butlins) gold apartment was told they had been all updated, would have 2 floors etc, but when checked in to room it looked very tired lot of wear and tear, hot tap broke in kitchen only 1 hob working on cooker as u can imagine hard to cook breakfast/Dinner for 5 people also was disappointed as not much entertainment on in day plus disappointed with the pool party ( where was the big inflatables?) compared to the other 2 Butlins but staff very friendly and polite in the Arcade, will not be coming back 2 Minehead

We've come to minehead for 3 nights. My advice would be to wait until they have the good deals a month or two before you want to go. We could have stayed in better accommodation with food included for £300 less than we paid. However that aside we have had a fun packed weekend. There is so much to do. The children really have had a lovely time. The beach is just across the road and the town just a 10 minute walk from Butlins itself. 20 minutes with small people in tow! Big Tesco, Morrisons and McDonald's nearby. Staff mostly friendly. Couple of miserable people but you get that anywhere. We would definitely book again but will wait for a deal to come up!

Thank you Butlins :)

This was our fourth Butlins holiday and our first at Minehead. All in all we had a great time with plenty to do for our 7 year old from the Splash Waterworld, circus, soft play, arts & crafts, shows, fairground really wearing her out. We even had a fun morning on the beach.

The silver accomodation was clean and suitable for what we wanted with only a few minor irritations such as faulty TV (fixed in an hour) and a front door jamming sometimes and the distance from everything. My wife did fall ill with something after 4 days but recovered after a few days rest.

We'd definately come again and include a day off site exploring. I also got a very significant discount on next years holiday.

Our family, mum, dad and two girls 12 and 8 stayed in the West lakes lodges for a week. We all really enjoyed our holiday and would recommend it to other families. However there were a couple of things that require improvement. Felt ripped off with the zip wire. 16 quid for one go for both girls for less than five minutes just felt wrong. On other hand high ropes lasted much longer and for 12 quid each was good value. We had ok service at the various restaurants and food has been fine and value for money. However The Diner seemed to to forget we are there for most if the time even though it was a quiet time. One bloke was serving everyone while others stood around.

Our accommodation was great. The new lake side lodge was a great location to retreat to at the end of action packed days.

For those moaning about the food and the cleaningness just to say it's not a 5* hotel. And you don't pay the price of it either. It is clean and tidy. Loads of fun stuff to do with kids of all ages. The restaurants and pubs are not expensive for food either. Loads of happy faces and smiles all around. Friendly staff. Lidl and Morrisons just round the corner if you want to eat in. Cooking facilities work fine. Clean towels every day. Burger king on site. Shows on every night. Circus. Indoor soft play area and fairground. I love my current job but would even consider moving and working there. The small town and beach are stunning, and only two steps away.

We came to butlins minehead 2 years ago, and vowed never to come again as the accommodation was Terrible and discusting and un clean and over priced, this year we decided to give it one last go, I can say I'm pleasently surprised the accommodation we choose this year are 100 times better, clean tidy spacious and £200 cheaper than last year. So we may even book again?

Got to the room at night to find the beds soaked and to find the bed also sheets with food stains all over it went to the people on charge after guest services close and they called somone to replace them but they took for ever wich involved me staying up late I’m very greatful but upset and annoyed at the same time after I payed £200

Lovely holiday and room was much better this year the only thing that annoys me with this place is that you ‘don’t cater for diabetics’ when my partner is type 1 and all you have for him to drink is water it’s not to bad when you have some lovely staff members who will go to the bar in the other rooms to get him a Diet Coke but when you have some staff members who clearly can’t be bothered , it’s not hard to put a squash in the machine that is sugar free!

After only arriving here on Monday we had a fantastic day Tuesday but unfortunately my little boy became really poorly with a sickness bug leaving us to be told we had to leave the resort. Butlins did offer us some money back and we were really happy they did this. The only problem we had was there wasn't any medic staff who could see my son and we were told to go the closest walk in centre. If we didn't have to come home our week would have been brilliant there's so much to do here

User

My family have been coming to Butlins every year for the past 5 years, each year I have felt it has gotten slightly worse but the children enjoy it so we rebook to come again the following year while we are there, this year it was really disappointing.

We arrived to our ‘silver’ accommodation to find the towel radiator in the bathroom hanging off the wall and an overwhelming smell of vomit, we soon discovered it was strongest in the main bedroom so we reported it to a maintainence worker. We went out that evening and returned to find no one had come to clean the room - we had to report this again the following morning, the room was cleaned again but the smell was still there, it was disgusting. The chalets are dated, there is damage everywhere, they could do with a complete refresh and they are only given a quick clean in between bookings as we found rubbish, toys and other items in corners of rooms.

The entertainment in the skyline used to be really good, lots of variety and plenty to watch, but this is no longer the case - the only skyline gang show that was on in the evening was the same as the one we saw last year so the younger children were really disappointed. There used to be characters walking around all the time greeting the children, having photos taken etc but again this is no longer the case, if you want to get near a character you need to stand in a half hour long queue to have an official photo done!

On one of the days there was a science day, this sounded really good however it was a massive let down, there were a couple unmanned stands - code breaking and how to be an astronaut both sound good but in reality were boring and not well thought through. There was a large buzz wire that was good but again unmanned - could have been a competition to make it a bit more exciting. The best part of this event was the bath bomb making, we went over to make them only to find out we have to book a time slot, the children really wanted to do this so we booked at 3:30. We came back at 3:30 to find that the ‘safety briefing’ had already been done and the session started ‘Adam’ a very unhelpful red coat had given 3 of our 7 spaces away, after arguing with us saying that we were late (we weren’t) we were on time and no one said that we needed to be early (if we were told to be there early we would have been), he insisted it was our own fault and that there is nothing he could do. The attitude of this particular read coat was horrendous he didn’t care at all and didn’t attempt to fix the issue, I’m surprised that Butlins would employ someone that has absolutely no interest in making family holidays a fun time.

We haven’t rebooked to go to Butlins next year, the quote was nearly £90 more than what we paid this year and we weren’t getting anymore for the money, in fact you get less as the every standard seems to be slipping each year. This is really disappointing as we used to enjoy Butlins as a family.

User

There is to much to list everything but me and my family use the skegness Butlins every year and decided to try this site and it's been a massive joke on arrival had to change rooms 3 times due to blood on walls in one and punch holes in other and the last room they had had blood on floor and was all round unclean, most of stuff was closed or not open for long and 1st week of July I don't understand why this would be and on a day that was 29 degrees could not even buy an ice cream as was closed joke will never be using this site again.

User

I had never been to a Butlin's before so when I booked this year and arriving at the Minehead branch I was excited. That soon changed though, after 24 hours on site I began to feel unwell.

That night I experienced violent vomiting and diarrhea which had stopped by the morning. My fiancee being a trained nurse distanced herself and our 11 month old son from me. Also being a nurse she never goes anywhere without disinfectant spray and wipes, so disinfects everything before use. Following Butlin's guidelines we reported the following morning that I had been ill and she explained what precautions she had taken. She also explained that from her experience the type of symptoms I had shown demonstrated food poisoning rather than a virus.

The staff didn't want to know. We got told we had to vacate the site as soon as possible as I could be contagious to other guests. Because I was the driver and wasn't upto a long drive back home I had to stay quarantined in the room. To make matters worse they even enforced my fiancee and my son too. To keep a 11 month child in a small room for 24 hours is cruel but the Butlin's don't seem to care about that.

We asked for food and water mainly for our son. It took the staff 5 hours and 4 phone calls to respond to that request and that was only because my fiancee on the last call said she had enough and she was going to the supermarket to get her child some food.

For a family aimed Holiday company they have a poor regard to them and their policies are alarming.

I certainly won't ever be booking with Butlin's ever again.
