Another fun day had in pre school today. This morning the children worked together outside, they helped each other to move equipment to where they wanted it to be. This afternoon for the tuff tray activity the children made their own ice creams this went down a treat I am sure they will tell you all about it tonight. EYFS Links:- * Communication and language - Use language to imagine and recreate roles and experiences in play situations. 40 - 60mths. * Expressive arts and design - Uses various construction materials 30 - 50mths. * Personal, Social and Emotional development - Beginning to be able to negotiate and solve problems.

Today the pre school children cut up the carrots they had picked from our growing area yesterday to sample today. EYFS Links:- Understanding the world 30 - 50mths Can talk about some of the things they have observed. Physical Development 30 - 50mths Understands that equipment and tools have to be used safely.

The Tweenies have had a fun day in the sunshine. The children have been busy building, making potions, painting the sunshine, playing with the yellow playdough to match the sunshine, and lots of water play. The children were keen problem solvers this morning whilst playing with the funnels they wanted the cars to go down so they worked together to solve the problem. EYFS Links:- Physical Development 22-36mts Imitates drawing circles and lines. Communication and Language 30 - 50mths Responds to simple instructions. Literacy and Mathematics 22 - 36mths Recites some number names in sequence.

As we are due to have some nice weather over the next few days please could I ask you to make sure your child has some sun cream and a hat at nursery.

Next Friday (5th July) we are taking part in wear a football shirt to nursery day as part of Vincent Kompany’s fundraising drive for the city’s homeless. If you don’t have a football shirt don’t worry just wear a colour of your choice for the day. We are asking for a £1 donation each on the day. # FootballFriday# Manchester

The babies have enjoyed playing outside with the bubbles today, They also enjoyed stroking Auntie Beckys rabbit Fifi.

The pre school children have been busy in their growing area today, They have picked some strawberries and carrots, they will wash, and cut them up tomorrow to eat.

The tweenies have had a lovely day, Following on from the childrens interests of animals and where they live Auntie Becky brought Fifi her pet rabbit to nursery. The children enjoyed looking after Fifi stroking, walking and feeding her apples. Lots of language came from this. The children told the aunties which animals they have at home how they look after them. The children also had a visit from Auntie Louise, the children were very pleased she visited today.

The tweenies have been using their fine motor skills to cut out magazines today, the children enjoyed this activity and were very determined to make snips in the paper. Whilst playing with the duplo the children sorted through colours as well as counting the blocks and building simple structures. In the tuff tray the children enjoyed mark making .

The baby room have had a busy day This morning they enjoyed exploring with salad, we discussed colours, smells and tastes. The children have been using their fine motor skills whilst doing this activity. This afternoon we played with the babies engaging in role play the children took care of the babies, feeding them and comforting them.

The pre school children have had a fun filled day. They have been busy working together to fill and transport sand with the cylinders and jugs. This afternoon as Auntie Beckie was coming on her lunch she spotted a hedgehog so she took the opportunity to let the pre school children explore. The children were very interested in the hedgehog lots of discussions have taken place be sure to ask your child about it tonight.

Everyone meet our newest member of our team:- Alex Alex is a fully qualified nursery practitioner who has had lots of experience, Alex will be working alongside our nursery practitioners for the next few weeks and getting to know all the children and our lovely parents. Please say hi when you see Alex to make her feel welcome 😀
