Next bike race up to the Cat & Fiddle - next Wednesday. Weather should be amazing. Meet at the Green Street Junction for 18:30. More info at the Macclesfield Wheelers website: http://www.macclesfieldwheelers.org.uk/ti metrials.php
Thursday's Hill Climb was well organized by Manchester Wheelers' Club. From my viewing spot 5/6 minutes up the climb it looked hard! Manchester's Chris Dyke got to the top in just 19:47 ahead of Congleton's Ben Norbury and local rider Bhima Bowden who were both neck and neck where I was stood watching. Photos from Ken Norbury below. Next event is 17th August with Macclesfield Wheelers. https://t.co/xBwLlZA7J2
Cyclists - there is an individually timed competition up to the Cat & Fiddle on Thursday 19:00. Meet at Fence Ave for 18:30 and bring a few £. All welcome. More info via Manchester Wheelers
Full moonrise over the Cat & Fiddle pub last night!
Cyclists are going up and down the road multiple times today until they reach the height of Mt. Everest (8848m). https://garychaplin.com/charity/everest-c hallenge-rmch/
Monday Night's bicycle race, run by Westmead Team 88 was won by local rider Bhima Bowden with Jack Green a close 2nd. Bhima's 47s lead by the 2nd layby was getting reduced in the 2nd half by Jack's superior skill on the flat/descending roads near the top but he ran out of road with a 33s deficit by the top. Times were slow (24/25 mins) due to the conditions. Next event is 28th July run by Manchester Wheelers
Some close-up shots of messages left for Guy Wharton
Wharton Corner is looking vibrant this evening with lots of tributes.
Tomorrow marks the beginning of bicycle-racing season up the A537 with an individual time trial from Macclesfield to the Cat & Fiddle starting just before the Fence Avenue junction. Riders set off 60 seconds apart and the fastest time wins. The event is run by Westmead Team 88 with the first rider off at 7pm. It's a few pounds to enter and a rear light MAY be required for safety. Meet around 18:30 on the junction of York st and bring your best legs. Spring
An exquisite day for it.
Wouldn't be spring without a bit of hail & snow.
Gorgeous day for a bike ride!
