Bwml Brokerage

BWML operate 20 marinas around the country. Our brokerage is based at Sawley Marina near Nottingham where we have a wide range of boats for sale.

BWML was established in January 2004. We currently operate 19 marinas throughout the country providing over 2500 berths for all types of craft, including coastal berths at Hull and Glasson Basin Marina. At Bath Marina we also have a caravan park with 100 pitches.

Relationship with Canal & River Trust

We are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Canal & River Trust, CRT (formally British Waterways), a national charity formed in 2012, whose primary role is the custodian and navigation authority for around 2, 000 miles of canals and rivers across England and Wales.

BWML, along with all other commercial interests of CRT, has a responsibility to generate commercial income to support the running of the waterways within CRT’s care.

In addition to remitting profits back to Canal & River Trust, BWML operates 14 marinas on leases from CRT for which it pays open market rents.

In the year 2014 /15 BWML paid Canal & River Trust around £900, 000 for leases, network access fees and business support costs as well as £290, 000 in respect of profits generated the previous year.

This is a valuable and significant contribution to the maintenance of CRT’s historic waterway network.

From each of our locations we offer a comprehensive range of services, these include graded moorings, new and used boat sales, marine chandlery, maintenance and repairs and much more. Our skilled staff have many years experience within the marine leisure industry, their aim, to provide excellent customer service backed up by a consistent approach to quality.

Our trading partners include many of the country’s leading marine suppliers and manufacturers. We also value our relationships with smaller businesses providing specialist products and services. Combined with our own knowledge we have a wealth of experience to share with our customers.
