😕Anxiety😕 . That horrible feeling in the pit of your stomach, tightness in your chest, sweaty palms, feeling like you are going redder than a tomato... feeling like you want to scream from the inside... shortness of breath... that's good old anxiety . I see many people who are facing anxiety in one form or another. Hypnotherapy and BWRT are amazing ways of tackling and abolishing anxiety... . Whatever the trigger, whatever the form it takes, anxiety always has the same cause - your brain is perceiving danger and trying to keep you safe. . What's crazy is that the danger isn't really there, you are trying to consciously calm yourself down, reassure yourself and control your body... but the problem isn't in your conscious mind! . Anxiety hits because something has triggered danger in your subconscious mind and it initiates the fight or flight response to help you fight the stressor or get as far away as possible . Not a great response in a job interview Or watching your favourite band at a concert Or when you're trying to revise for an exam . Lot's of people come to me and say "You must think I'm mad" when they are describing their symptoms and the often "normal" things in life that trigger them . If you're suffering from anxiety you're not going mad, your body is responding in a normal way - the problem is the way your mind is perceiving threat and danger . So how can anxiety be overcome? . There are lots of things you can do in the moment, like deep breathing, focusing on something that makes you feel positive, reminding yourself this is just a response and it will pass. Your body can't be calm and anxious at the same time so focusing on muscle relaxation or deep breathing can really help. . Long term I always recommend getting to the root of the anxiety with BWRT or Hypnotherapy for the quickest solution. . 👉🏻If you'd like to talk about anxiety get in touch (details in my bio)
