If you have been given the role of team leader or manager within your organisation then I salute you. Before we become managers or leaders we often have no clue about exactly what's involved and on some days it can feel like a real challenge. I made lots of mistakes along my journey to becoming a team leader, then a manager, then a director. There are many things I know now that would have been a real help to me had I known them then. And so now I have the joy of working with aspiring and established managers and leaders to share the lessons I wish I'd had to help them overcome some of the challenges they face and also to help them create and deliver their vision for the future. I have been lucky to have had the opportunity to try a variety of roles within different types of organisations. I have started at the bottom and worked my way up and met some inspirational people along the way.
