The food was wonderful! Had a lovely evening meal, all thanks to the great service and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and visit again!

User

The food was tasty and hot, the wine was chilled, the air conditioning was working well and the service was good. Couldn't fault it .

User

Superb night spent with friends for a birthday. Jonathan the restaurant manager was incredibly generous, for which I am extremely grateful. The food was delicious, the staff were all wonderful and although we were the last out ( and they no doubt wanted to go home, sorry) we never felt rushed to leave. Genuinely lovely night, would highly recommend.

User

Spacious, nice music, friendly and helpful staff, food prompt and delicious. Good value for money

So, I decided to go into Cote and ask for a table for one. Sad little story but it was my sons birthday and we were meant to meet up and have an afternoon together. Due to the weather conditions and the industrial action on the trains, we had to postpone.

I merely mentioned this to the Waiters because I must have looked a bit sad eating on my own.

I had fantastic service and a complimentary voucher for my next visit.. I was shocked by the kindness shown by the staff.

The food was beautiful and the service was amazing.. thank you so much

User

Just been for a lovely meal here as newlyweds, with my parents, and not only was the food amazing but the staff and service was fantastic. Knowing we were newlyweds they bought us flowers, chocolates and brought us over each a glass of fizz ! Would highly recommend and thank you for a great evening. The new Mr and Mrs Leslie!

I am a fairly frequent visitor to Cote in Cirencester and I was a little horrified to read the very negative review below from the person who had the "raw" sausages and I felt that I should throw my "2 cents" into the ring.

As somebody who actually work in the the food industry (as a health and safety inspector) i can say with some authority that the question about "should pork/sausages be served pink" comes up all of the time.

The short answer is Yes, if they are cooked. This may sound like a contradiction, because we have always been taught and told by government agencies that if pork sausages are pink, they haven’t been cooked. Factually this is wrong, colour is not a true indication of whether sausages have been cooked.

Meat is cooked when pathogenic bacteria is killed and becomes safe to eat. Internet forums are full of people posting that, they have cooked sausages for ages and they were still pink, can they eat them? Sausages and meat that has been minced, can stay pink when cooked. It can also brown prematurely, which is just as worrying. Premature browning means they can look ‘cooked’ (not pink) but in fact the pathogenic bacteria has not been killed. Therefore, colour is a terrible indication of whether a sausage has been cooked.

The best way by far to ensure that any meat has been properly cooked is to probe for the internal temperature.

In the case of pork sausages 75 degrees centigrade for 30 seconds is where your sausages need to be.

Sorry for the long rant but this is a common misconception that i face daily.

I have eaten breakfast at Cote in Cirencester many times and the sausages have always been perfectly cooked. I would suggest to our friend who had the negative experience to give hospitality staff a little more respect in the future and treat them as he would wish to be treated himself.

They work in a very demanding environment and don't deserve to be looked down upon as second class citizens by people with an inferiority complex.

Once again I cant recommend Cote highly enough and I hope that this one negative review among the hundreds of extremely positive ones doesn't impact on the feelings of a group of highly professional and wonderfully caring people.

Have had 2 lovely meals here when I visited my brother and his family from Australia in May. They are local and visit regularly I was very very impressed! We eat out a lot at home and I often find the restraints in the UK a little lacking but not this wonderful one!

Food superb and nice portions . Staff really helpful towards my sister in law when she was unwell kept checking on her . Worth your 5 stars! Will be back next time I'm in the UK.🍷

User

Great meal & service with lovely staff. Thank-you for making my daughter's 15th birthday special & fun especially on a cold wet Monday when she'd just gone back to school!

Cotes Cirencester was a lovely relaxed and friendly atmosphere, staff are very kind and thoughtful. Last night my hubby and I went, celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary. They gave us a Complementary glass of Champagne to start and then at the end when we got our bill they told us the desserts were on them. Thank you very, very much. Xxx

Just to add my Hubby had the French Onion Soup and I had the Prawn Gratinee which was really tasty followed by Hubby; Fish Stew and I had the March special; Duck with the side both amazing dishes. finally for dessert hubby had the March special profiteroles and I had the frozen berries. We did not feel rushed

User

The food was very good, a lovely waitress and prompt attentive service. However, when we arrived a hen party had just arrived and we were ushered to a table in the corridor, I asked to be moved in the main Resturant but we were told we couldn’t. It’s not a nice place to sit as there is constant footfall passing you and you don’t feel part of the Resturant. Apart from that it was good.

User

Once in the food and service was good, however initially we felt more of an inconvenience kept at door and told would have to check as lunch service starting!!! However many tables free and were when left and not reserved until a couple of hours. A little better customer service at front of house by manager next time please!!!

User

Lovely food and lovely service would definitely eat here again highly recommend.

User

First time at this Resturant with family. Very busy buzzing in fact. Service very good and quick. Beer in bottles not chilled nor was the wine. Champagne very chilled with the special menu. Food good overall although steak was sinewy and the belly pork had no crackling. Enjoyable evening would visit again but not the best experience. I guess it's to busy to be good.

User

Family breakfast was very tasty and we were not rushed. A little disconcerting to see your order arriving from upstairs and then walked around the restaurant in search of a server, result is not a piping hot meal.

Take the gratuity off the bill as we reward good service, very well, when deserved.

Will visit again though.

User

Have been a regular here ever since it opened. Can always rely on great food and service. However let down yesterday as our waiter kept disappearing - all other waiters responded that we were not their station and didn't know where he had gone. Towards the end of the evening I he only had three tables to cover but the sweet wine and port only turned up after we had finished eating and only when we had to physically go and find them.

The belly pork is a particular favourite but this time not cooked long enough - i.e. The fat had not rendered down sufficiently and the cabbage was non existent!

Disappointed- Not the usual standard although we were compensated for the drinks.

User

decent food and good options for gluten free however rushed rude and general poor service, very unpersonal experience.

User

Really bad experience this evening. Food took over an hour. Starter plates left on the table for over half an hour. No service. No apology. Such a shame.
