Definition of a “Cadavre Exquis”:
Also known as Exquisite corpse or rotating corpse, a “Cadavre Exquis” is an artistic method by which a collection of words or images (and now sounds) is collectively assembled. Each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, either by following a rule or theme or by being allowed to see only the end of what the previous person contributed.
CDXQ is an article you never knew you wanted to read, into an artist you never wanted to see, onto a sound you never wanted to hear. But it’s new. And its new. And it’s new again. And it’s unconnected. It can take you anywhere it wants to take you. To any theme, to any idea, to any style – to any outpost in all the noise.
No algorithm that watches your moves and views your patterns - and decides what you want to see can ever compete with pure random.
