Café Rouge - Bath

Thanks to Leanne and the staff at Cafe Rouge Bath for a lovely Afternoon Tea yesterday as a belated 21st birthday celebration for a friend's daughter. The afternoon tea was delicious and not a crumb left at the end :-)

First time at a Cafe Rouge, can’t wait to re-visit. Food amazing, service fantastic great friendly staff.

Very friendly service, food was nice arrived quickly, hot and tasty.

The breakfast was nice only complaint the toast was cold and I hate cold toast but apart from that it was all good.

The soup. Garlic soup was not up to my usual soup standard. The bread was hard.

The cafe was relatively empty yet we waited ages to be served. Drinks eventually arrived but food took well over 30 minutes. Couple sat on next table to us arrived after us yet got their food before us! Eventually ONE of our three meals arrived but the other two were nowhere to be seen! We had already complained about the time we had had to wait then we had to had to ask where our other meals were! Server was polite and gave us a discount but sadly this has put me off visiting again!

I was shopping with a friend who had booked us a table here. I love Salade Nicoise and was really looking forward to trying it out in an authentic French restaurant. What a disappointment though, the salad was bland and tasteless, the tuna steak too. Tasteless supermarket tomatoes combined with eggs and new potatoes straight from the fridge and no dressing whatsoever. I did not complain because the authentic ingredients in a Salade Nicoise are a mystery and it’s different everywhere you go. Much prefer my home-made one and I should have had the omelette and chips like my friend!
