About Café Velo

We are a cycling themed, independent, family run cafûˋ. Our local suppliers include, BakeHouse24, Crow Farm Stores & Badhand Coffee

Café Velo Description

We are an independent cycle cafûˋ based in the centre of Ringwood, Hampshire.

We serve freshly cooked, locally sourced, brunch and lunch menus six days a week (we're closed on a Tuesday), alongside great locally roasted espresso and batch brew coffees and a range of homemade cakes, brownies and cookies.

Wherever possible, we source our menu items from local independent suppliers such as BakeHouse24, Crow Farm and South Coast Roast. We strive to ensure that our meat and dairy products are free-range or higher welfare.

Our workshop is run in collaboration with @BicycleJack's and is able to take on any servicing or repair work that you need done - from the smallest gear and brake tweaks, right through to complete strip down and rebuild work. Want a custom build? Come and chat to us!

We offer indoor cycle storage, plenty of space around our tables, indoor and outdoor seating, a water bottle filling station, a warm welcome and radiators!

We have had great support this year since Cafûˋ Velo opened, personally myself, Peter & Vicky have been blown away by the numbers that we are now getting on our Ride Outs, seeing all ability's and sex's now with 3 groups heading out most weeks.
So its Social time... no bikes....no lycraã€Î.maybe Coffee.....no partners (unless they ride with us...maybe Vicky ;-) but defiantly Beer!
The Plan.
... 8pm Wednesday 3rd October: Curry Night at the Indian Cottage, 35 Christchurch Road, Ringwood BH24 1DG.
We will look for a set price: Starter, Main + poppadum's, Drinks Shared on Night.
We need numbers to Book, please go to the Cafûˋ Velo FB page and add your name, it would be great to get as many as possible of you along.....

Some really special News has just been confirmed.
On this coming Friday 7th we have a very special guest arriving in the UK and at Cafûˋ Velo.
He is supporting Stuart Grace with his efforts at raising the awareness of the Epilepsy Society with a great Charity Sportive at shutuplegscharityride.com/.
... Jens Voigt will be arriving around Friday 7th lunchtime so get yourself down to Velo Cafûˋ to meet him.
If your unsure who this guy is then the below will show what a true legend he is both on and off the Bike.
Professional Road Racing Cyclist
Jens Voigt is a German former professional road bicycle racer for several teams, the last one being UCI ProTeam Trek Factory Racing.
Voigt wore the yellow jersey of the Tour de France twice, though he was never a contender for the overall title owing to the mountainous nature of the stages of the race being better suited to climbing specialists.
His career achievements include winning the Critûˋrium International a record-tying 5 times and a number of one-week stage races, as well as two Tour de France stage victories.
In September 2014, he set a new hour record. The record was beaten by Matthias BrûÊndle in October of the same year.

What a lovely find today! Super dog friendly (provided a bowl of water and dog biscuits for our two pups and they were allowed in the cafe). The homemade cakes were amazing and we〙ll have to return to try out the rest!

User

What a lovely change to have such a genuine friendly welcome! This cafe is privately owned and deserves to do well with excellent coffee and locally sourced food. The cakes in particular are difficult to resist! Veggie/vegan food on offer too and very reasonable prices. If you're looking for a different experience from the big chains then this is the place to go-and you don't need to be a cyclist! Even better when the sun's shining and you can sit at a table outside.

User

Very friendly.... Nice atmosphere even without music..... Didn't feel you had to whisper. Lovely homemade cakes... Tried two...yum. Very accommodating and nothing too much trouble. Even lent me a charger cable for phone. Will be back x

Today was first day of re-open under new owners. Atmosphere brilliant and think this is a great independent drinking and eating place for Ringwood. Has a cycle theme with a secure internal room to hold your bike and gear, but it is also kids and family friendly and they let you bring your dogs inside. Saw oéçner with mop cleaning up after a couple of large muddy but friendly dogs had been in. The cafe is tucked away but really worthwhile sharing this one with your friends and family. Forgot to mention, all the food stuff they serve is locally sourced. I can〙t wait to try out their vege breakfast which looks delicious and very reasonable. Today it was the toast, yum yum. Please note I have no connection at all with this cafe or owners. First time I met them was today, but recognize quality and staff who want you to have a great time. I also like to see local independent traders do well.

User

The new owners of cafe velo have made some great improvements. There was a lovely atmosphere and a very warm and friendly welcome. The food was reasonably priced and cooked perfectly. I was very impressed with the price of the children〙s menu and the amount and quality of the food served. The breakfast with an added tea or coffee included in the price is an excellent idea. We will definitely be back. (Not sure we can make it tomorrow now!).

User

Thanks for a lovely full velo breakfast with gluten free 〜substitutions〝 and a latte. Was perfect after my morning ride. See you again soon to try the GF carrot cake ÿ¢§

User

Such a lovely friendly cafûˋ. Good selection of food with tables and chairs or comfy settees to sit on. Had a good size room inside the cafûˋ to put your bikes as not a lot of places to lock your bike to outside. Will definitely be going back

User

Popped in on our way home after a long walk in the forest with a very muddy dog. This place has everything you need, secure room for those expensive bikes, great coffee and food, free dog biscuits and really friendly staff ÿ¢§

User

Popped in for the first time today, great little place. Staff are very friendly and were extremely helpful when I needed a cable for my garmin, so was able to charge it up whilst having a coffee and a slice of cake.

Highly recommend incorporating it into a cycle route.

User

Popped in for a coffee and brunch. Really good food (veggie velo) and coffee. Day 2 apparently.... certainly bucket loads more atmosphere than it used to have. I〙ll definitely be back both on foot and as a cafe stop mid ride.

User

My first visit to this delightful cafe. I went with a family member for lunch . We were greeted by the proprietors who were very friendly and welcoming . We both opted for a jacket potato with chilli. It came with a generous serving of chilli and a beautifully presented side salad . Great value for money and prompt service. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere too and nothing was too much trouble. A great selection of cakes was available too which looked very inviting! I highly recommend this little gem I look forward to another visit.

User

Met some customers here as (a) it〙s independent and (b) cycling related - we were discussing their forthcoming cycling holiday. Fantastic coffee, fantastic breakfast and the best bit of all was the welcome from the owner and his team. They deserve for this to be a great success. Highly recommended.

User

I popped in to Velo's today and met the new owner Peter, who was so welcoming and friendly. I didn't realise it had changed hands but can see that there have been improvements and upgrading to the cafe and they STILL have the vegan brekkie on the menu and welcome doggies there so big thumbs up from me. It's so lovely to meet a friendly cafe owner, it makes all the difference, and I love that they mend bikes here too. It's got a real community feel to it and I know that is what they want to achieve so do support them, it's a great space and friendly warm staff make all the difference.

User

I always prefer to support smaller local business than chains and this morning was my first time visiting since it has changed owners. Coffee was great, good selection of food which was very yummy! It was very busy with a friendly and lively atmosphere. Also made me determined to dust off my bike! Will definitely be back!

User

How could you not like a cafe with great cake, bike memorabilia on the walls, safe bike storage inside, a workshop for getting your bike fixed and great customer service. Thanks for looking after us on our ride today - we'll be back.

User

Had a spot of breakfast and a coffee here this morning. Really tasty food, great environment and very welcoming. Highly recommended!

User

Friendly and accommodating staff, cycle themed but all different people welcome, an emphasis on genuine home made cakes and quality simple fayre. A top quality experience although the new operators are still bedding in so some patience may be necessary at busy times. That said given the friendly approach one simply is happy to wait if necessary.. I hope this proves a success..support it.. A brilliant pit stop in the forest

User

Finally got round to visiting Cafe Velo today, and it didn〙t disappoint. The Owner (Pete) is super friendly and welcoming, and makes the time to chat to you. The secure bike store is absolutely perfect for keeping your pride and joy safe. Throw in the great coffee and lovely homemade cakes, it〙s a must for anyone one, whether cycling or not!!

I will be popping back with the dog to sample the lunch menu very soon!

User

Cycled here on a recommendation. Friendly welcome and good coffee. It is cycle themed with bike storage, and a workshop, but is a modern relaxed place with a friendly atmosphere suitable for anyone.
