Cafe Masala

Amazing fresh authentic food, beautifully presented and with attentive speedy service. The decor is contemporary, modern and spacious with modern Asian music and video projection. Unfortunately this was a little loud for my liking but was quickly turned down once asked. Due to this it didn't have quite the romantic feel, but the food and service was exquisite. Oh and who knows how the Tastcard deduction was calculated!

All in all it's a must visit!

Been going to this restaurant since it first opened. Always provide a very friendly welcome and good food of high quality. The chicken is always very tender. Best Indian restaurant in Southend and I have tried most of them.

Simply the best Indian Restaurant. Delicious food, 5/5 hygiene rating, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Eat in or takeaway, the choice is yours. Never had a bad meal from this restaurant.

Used to be our regular Christmas eve meal location with friends. Seems to have gone down hill over the years with the service and other aspects.

Booked ahead of time and had to wait for a table that clearly hadn't been arranged.

We had a to ask for menus and then ask to order drinks etc.

This year we have will be looking to go elsewhere, also may save a bit of money too.

Discovered this is only around the corner from me the other day and I'm normally wary of Indian restaurants because lots of our local ones have low hygiene scores. This one has a 5/5 so I tried it out and the food is really good, great customer service too.

Lovely food and welcome

I've been to Cafe Masala on several occasions and every time we've had a lovely meal. The waiters are all welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit.

We had a meal with some work colleagues and had to wait over an hour for our main course; the drinks were not as ordered and one lady on our table had to wait 15 mins for her rice to go with her main course. Some people had to wait nearly 2 hours for their starter. I know this was near Christmas but there wasn't enough staff. They were still serving take-away meals as well as serving main customers. There was not enough menus and we had to read very small print in the take-away menus. The food was not as expected. Rather disappointing, when the whole evening obviously cost our employers a lot of money.

Good food and great staff,, I would recommend to anyone.
