Cafe Rouge

It's a chain so the food is similar to what you would receive in any cafe rouge. The star rating of the review is based on this understanding. Service is where Harborne cafe rouge stands out from what's a reasonably run of the mill and in my experience slightly overpriced chain ( if not using a voucher ).

They have had an excellent record of good front of house staff here - the primary reason we keep coming back. Debs, our recent server continuing this record well. We have young kids and try to beat the rush by dining early in the evening. We are rewarded by wonderful service which engages the little ones, creating a pleasant and relaxing family experience. The draught Stella is pretty good too.

Wonderful Parisian atmosphere and fabulous food. Lovely staff. Very relaxing experience.

Go there for breakfast very nice and staff always helpful and friendly,no morning papers though

Confit De Canard very tasty and Sir enjoyed his hake. I would have photographed it but...I ate it. Service good and attentive without being over the top. You can always rely on Cafe Rouge, I find, without ending up with a blistering bill. Nice Malbec.

Went here a couple of weeks ago my boyfriend and I had a steak and fries each, the service was friendly and the meals at the time were not too bad, however in the early hours of the morning after we had the meal and for the following week or so we both suffered from horrendous food poisoning.. couldn't stop being sick.
And this is the only common meal we had shared so definitely caused by something not quite right in the kitchen! Really put off by the experience and don't think we will be returning here..

Superb service and delicious food! Had a question for the chef and he was happy to speak with me for what seemed to be ages! Will certainly go back here!
