Before & After

Would agree with all the comments regarding staff who were very friendly and on the ball. Can't comment on the log burner as it was 29°C outside. After a weekend climbing mountains and kayaking in the Lake District the special burger and the clasic BLT in a baguette really filled a gap, were very tasty and good value. A last little treat on the journey home!

User

What a lovely little cafe. Had the deluxe hot chocolate which was very nice. Didn't have any food but it looked good. Lot's to choose from on the menu.

User

We had a stop there yesterday for drinks and scones. The scones were huge, and came with lots of butter and the coffee was fantastic! It was the best coffee I've had in a cafe or restaurant for years! Brilliant! Highly recommended

User

Thank you so much for today. We were working near Penrith and thought that there was only a certain chicken fast food place open. We say you on our way up and said we would check you out on the way home. Glad we did. Had a proper meal with and great cuppa and lovely staff that were helpful. We will see you again. The Blacksmiths.

Stopped there yesterday on a reccomendation from my dad. Ordered up a full English breakfast and i have to say i was greatly impressed. Two egg, two sausage, two bacon, hash brown, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes and either toast or fried bread and a pot of tea for 8.50! Will be back

User

Nice friendly people with nice food and cosy little place for weary travellers.

User

Nearly didn’t stop, but so glad we did. Lovely little cafe with great breakfasts and cake. The main meals looked really nice too.

User

Loved the place very good food and value. A great place to watch the world go by traffice passing @70 mph on the A66. Log burn to keep you warm. Clean and tidy. They make nice cakes also. Bought two pieces of Christmas cake Yum!

User

Love this place, food is really nice, reasonably priced, staff are friendly, place is spotlessly clean and very welcoming. We now stop off here for breakfast on route to Leeds every Leeds United home game. Definately recommend x

I confess to having stopped in mostly at the Karma Llama forgetting that the Sixty Six is just a wee bit further on. This time I sailed right past the llamas and made a fortuitous stop on a chilly Sunday at the Sixty Six. Two very charming ladies made me breakfast. (Get the full English if you're hungry). The coffee and the log burner were most welcome for an early traveler heading East and then South. I was that full I didn't need lunch! The scones by the way are HUGE! I'll be having one on the way back up. You can turn round at Appleby if you're heading West and miss the Sixty Six. Definitely worth the visit and it's now my favourite stop on the journey between Essex and Glasgow. :)

Have stopped at this cafe a few times now and has become a bit of a tradition coming back from Scotland. So much nicer than eating at the usual services. My partner had bacon butties with mushrooms and I had fried eggs on toast, very tasty.Staff are always efficient and friendly.Good toilet facility too, always spotless.

User

Great service and delicious full cooked breakfast, just what we needed after 3 hours on the road! Many thanks xx

User

Cafe is run by really good staff and great food. Great place to eat and drink.

User

I stop off here at least 4-5 times a year service and food is always brilliant and they are so patient with little ones too. The staff are always nice and frienly too which is always a bonus on a five to six hour journey

User

Great food but don’t forget to check out the specials board. Friendly and welcoming. So great this place exists as was always my stop off when it was Little Chef.

User

Friendly staff. Very clean, nice cuppa served from a teapot and he breakfast was lovely, fresh and piping hot. Shame they don't serve tinned tomatoes rather than a boring half tomatoes tho!

User

Driven past numerous times but decided to stop today. Just squeezed into the car park (busy time) and found 2 seats. Gorgeous array of home made cakes/fruit loaves/scones on counter and a reasonable range of savoury meals from which to choose. Add to this the stunning view and decent prices and I think this is our new stop-off!
