This weeks cake was for a client that wanted a housework themed cake so washing was on the agenda. So as 2018 draws to a close I thought I would take a look back at how my Cakey year went. I started off the year with some amazing cakes to make with 4 weddings but thankfully no funeral cakes. In May I opened up my studio and it has been full steam ahead since. As well as opening my studio I received a 5star hygiene rating from my local council. I also entered 2 competitions gaining silver medals in both. I can’t wait to see what 2019 brings with more cakes already booked in I have a busy time ahead and looking forward to learning more and making more dream cakes for lovely people. So this weekend saw my big brother getting married @andrewallen4228 I was asked to make the wedding cake(s) of which I was only too happy to oblige. The brief was “could we have a nice little traditional style fruit cake and a camper van” so here are the end products. Fruit cake, marzipan and fondant decorated with @stephen_benison @sugar_artistry_ naked leaves and flowers. The camper van was chocolate fudge cake, chocolate ganache. Had a fantastic day today with the lovely ladies on the cupcake topper workshop. Kasia Santos Elise Pullen and Becky Trodden. They produced some fantastic models even if we did overrun with too much chatting 🙄
