Calisthenics Basingstoke Description

Train Calisthenics.

We run group sessions as per following schedule:

Mondays 6pm-8pm
Wednesdays 6pm-8pm
Saturdays 12pm-3pm
Sundays 10am-1pm

Weekday classes focus on developing basic strength, learning the progressions and introducing you to total body tension.

Weekends will allow you to learn techniques of losing weight, gaining muscle, injury prevention, stretching, warming up and static elements like front levers, planche and human flag. We will also be on hand with advice on how to create a good training plan and answer all of your questions.

Pete started training with his own bodyweight in November 2018. This is him now!
He does one PT a week with one of our coaches and attends one group sessions. That's two trainings a week. That's 21 weeks of constant progress and complete adherence to process we laid out for him.
All of this was achieved in less than 100 hours of coaching.

Here's a 6 months of training video of one of our members Pete!
Pete started with us in November, beforehand his only training was split weight training with emphasis on heavy volume/endurance and hypertrophy (muscle growth).
Pete trains with us during group sessions once a week and occasionally does Personal Training sessions with our coaches to polish his form.
... His biggest weakness was core strength and mobility. Doing Calisthenics hugely ulitilises the core strength on each exercise and our expert team ensures each of our members challenges their range of movement which results in more capable, functional and athletic bodies.
Pete already unlocked 5 strict muscle ups on a bar since he started with us. The ring muscle up even though less demanding on strength requires much more chest and shoulder mobility. Quite often, weight training aimed at muscle growth might prove itself becoming an obstacle in performing a smooth transition beyond the chest high pull.
Big congratulations to Pete and we look forward to more achievements in near future!

It doesn't matter where you start your journey with bodyweight exercises. The fact you cannot do a push up or pull up does not predict whether you have the potential or strength needed to be able to do well with more advanced Calisthenics elements like muscle ups, human flags, levers, dips and others.
There are only a few factors determine your success with strength training:
1.Do you enjoy the training you undertake?... 2.Do you know you're doing exercises correctly? 3. Do you train regularly? 4. Do you have a coach to lay out an adequate process of development for you?
If you manage to answer yes to all four of those questions, your results are guaranteed. Nothing else (as long as you're a healthy adult) matters to predict whether you're going to get insanely strong. At Calisthenics Basingstoke we ensure the trainings are fun, our members train correctly and master each exercise before moving on to harder variations, we use accountability to ensure every member trains regularly, with us or at home/gym and make sure they are on the right path of their development.

This year I set myself lots of challenges and one of them was to try a new type of exercise. I have been hooked since the first session just a month ago. The techniques and knowledge from the coaches have helped me progress so much and seeing your body achieve things that you never thought were possible is an incredible feeling. I have achieved an exceptional amount through the 4-5 months I have been here. Learned a lot about correct form, how to warm up effectively, regularly breaking personal bests on many exercises.

This is a very good environment to be training in. Everyone made me feel comfortable quickly and continue to make every new member feel confident about starting up. Woj and Raf are both great trainers, will push you to your limits whist making every session enjoyable

Calisthenics Basingstoke and calisthenics is changing my life. I’ve previously been in and out of fitness. My journey to change myself started with too much red wine �. I was on a dangerous path and stressed with work. I gained a big belly and thought “let’s change this”. Calisthenics is my alcohol and with the guidance of Woj and Raf I’m working at my strength, balance and form to become a better person, a better example to my family and have fun.
