Went with hubby and kids last night as we fancied some proper home cooked food and it was far too hot for me to cook. Amazing food and service as always, thoroughly recommend the whitebait (daughter ate half of mine) and belly of pork 😋😋😋

Welcoming lovely restaurant, excellent food especially the chips � my partner couldn't get enough of them, reminded him of chip shop chips he had growing up. Would highly recommend and if ever in the area again would 100% go back to Callenders �

We were a group of 24 adults and 6 babies/toddlers. We had a fantastic time celebrating a birthday. The staff were so friendly and the service excellent. Cannot fault the food and menu it was lovely. Would defiantly recommend this restaurant. Especially as we were such a large group x

We visited on bank holiday Monday, we had booked but there were few customers.

Friendly greeting by the waitress given our choice of where to sit.

The operation was waitress and chef and that's it. Chef was really friendly multitasking. The starters were delicious and quite substantial. Mains were both really well cooked and presented my duck breast was a cintilla from perfect with some of the most delicious sauté potatoes I have eaten. Veg well cooked still with texture.

If I were to offer any criticism the profiteroles were slightly "crunchie" cream and chocolate sauce were nice.

Service was very friendly and the whole experience was boosted by the fact that chef clearly is good at presentation too

We have just had our wedding lunch at callenders. It was amazing ,lovely food excellent service nothing was too much trouble. We left a horrible mess under the high chair which they wouldn't let us clear up. They totally made our day fabulous thank you so much . Will recommend to everyone.

Visited last night for a friends birthday meal the restaurant was fantastic, service, food all yummy and homemade have also been at lunchtimes and loved it!

Took hubbie for lunch yesterday here.Lunchtime menu very good value my favourite was the corgette soup and the summer pudding was to die for!! Hubbie also loved his traditional liver and bacon. Would well recommend.service was excellent.

This has got to be one of the best meals I've had in a restaurant for a long time brilliant staff lovely atmosphere and good background music. Couldn't fault anything will definitely be going back again.Thank you to all at Callenders for a wonderful birthday meal

The staff were amazing. They even prepared off menu food for our children (and also provided paper and pens foe drawing) The food was delicious and freshly prepared. Would recommend to everyone. Thank you for an amazing Meal.

Our first time in this restaurant it was very welcoming. Nice selection on the menu. Very tasty indeed all the puddings are homemade too. We will definitely be going back. Would recommend this restaurant. 👍👍😊

OK so I took my wife to callenders this evening and for the first time ever I can say hand on heart I had a perfect meal. The food was amazing. The service was the best ever I could not decide whether to have whitebait or tempura prawns for a starter. I picked whitebait and when it arrived they put a tempura prawn on my plate as well...now that is customer service. Overall a perfect evening meal. Thank you guys for a great time...

Had an absolutely amazing sunday roast with the family, the beef was perfect! it must have been good as all the kids cleaned their plates which is unusual lol! The home made desserts were gorgeous as well. really reasonable prices considering the quality of food and great service you get. Will definitely be back.

Great Breakfast! Superb Pork Belly that never lets you down. Anything on the specials board is well worth a try. All fresh and local. Check out the Mac & Cheese, mmmmmmm, comfort food.

First time I've eaten here and Never will go anywhere else after the service we received, we had a large party of 26 and 4 highchairs: when we arrived I needed to feed my newborn (breast) so I sat on a sofa to feed her, without asking for it I was given a icy cold glass of water (your meant to drink water when you breastfeed your baby) I was made to feel comfortable when feeding which isn't always the case at restaurants, we all got our starters, main and deserts together even though on three separate tables , everyone was asked if needed a drink and if we asked for another drink, sauce or gravy we got it straight away! Not only was the food brought out together it was beautiful home cooked food so compliments to the chef getting it all out together and still being 10/10 food! They were brilliant the waitress and waiter did a amazing job of looking after us and to top it all off this place was very child friendly and our children can be a nightmare lol , we go out in big groups of people a lot and we will be choosing callenders everytime from Now on we we're all seated close together and had a great time Thankyou so much xx

Came this evening for a birthday meal and was very impressed!! Being coeliac eating out can be a pain but you guys made it so easy with 95% of your menu being gluten free!!! And it was delicious!!! Awesome awesome awesome x

At the weekend we had a meal for 40 guests, and not one person in the party could fault the amazing food, excellent service and welcoming atmosphere. Killian and Donna your staff are a credit to you and we wouldn't hesitate to have future functions with you.

11 of us ate here last night for my husbands birthday and it was brilliant!! The staff were very friendly and the service was great, the food was amazing! The best meal out I've had in ages we will definitely be returning. Thanks for a lovely evening �

We went there last night and I can honestly say it was the worst meal I have ever had, I started with creamy garlic mushrooms, well there was definitely no garlic in them, I then asked for a rump steak and then told they didn't have any and would I have a serloin to which I agreed, I asked for salad with it but when the food came I was disgusted, the presentation looked like it had been on the plate a week, the chips were tasteless and the mushrooms were old and withered and dried up, I am not sure if they have a new chef but they need to be taught how to cook, the decor is old and needs smartening up, I will not be going there again
