Excellent facilities, clean, tidy well managed site. Helpful friendly staff. Great for kids and families. Outdoor pool was fun. Only 4 stars due to having to pay for showers, extortionate shop prices and quite expensive camping fees.

Fantastic place we have great holidays there every year, (forth year going) BUT the lack of toilets and showers isn't good. You have to go far to reach them if you are a camper. Even some porter Loo's would be better than nothing and electric for campers would be good. We like to have a little luxury when we are away and these issues mean we only go for a few days at a time rather than the week or two we would like too. Great staff, very clean and tidy throughout the campsite, lots of things for the Kids and adults.

This is a BIG campsite. And with a big campsite, there are lots of kids and lots of noise. Don't get me wrong - the staff here are absolutely lovely, and there's a warden who comes round at 11pm to ask people to be quiet. But if you value silence this is not the place for you. The facilities are impeccable - clean and tidy with extra hot showers. The playpark is nice for younger ones and the swimming pool is kept super clean and is nice and warm. This is definitely more of a resort than a campsite - with bingo and entertainment in the pub. It wasn't our usual sort of place and we probably won't be back as we value peace, but if you are more tolerant than me and you enjoy "family entertainment" then you'll love it.

Lovely location with fantastic views. Good facilities and friendly staff.
Site is located on Tissington trail, which is great for walkers and cyclists. Ashbourne is a pleasant 20 minute walk away if you include a game of Pooh sticks at the bridge. The site has a nice heated outdoor swimming pool that the kids live whatever the weather, they also have a great play area and games room, so plenty to keep kids entertained.

We felt cautious about staying at such a large site during the summer holidays. We have no small children of our own anymore, so tend to use the smaller sites. I take my hat off to the management team. The place was tidy, the bathrooms/toilets were always clean with plenty of hot water. We felt delighted to see so many children out in the fresh air playing football, cricket and on their bikes. Everyone was happy doing their own thing and the facility's were amazing. While the place was busy the sound levels dropped off at night, by midnight you could of heard a pin drop. We would definitely stay again.

We had a weekend camping here, amenities were ok, pub was ok but not dog friendly. This isn't the place to be if you have no children but great if you do. It was teaming with them everywhere. Not for a quite weekend . Would go back again.

CARAVANS, do not arrive after work on a Friday if you value your clutch. The queue for reception and to get through the barrier to the pitches was at least 30 cars and 30 minutes on a hill so steep they have signs reading cyclists dismount, steep hill. The car in front with a caravan on had to hold it on the foot brake as his handbrake would not. My £1000 clutch and flywheel repair bill is testament to the fact they have a responsibility to sort something better. I.e stop towing vehicles at the bottom of the hill (there is plenty of room) until there is space on the flat at the top.
The site is mainly staffed by teenagers but it seems to work they have a constant litter picker and barrier person. Tent fields look good, caravan pitches are not my cup of tea but each to their own. Didn't use the pool or pub as they were very busy and we were in a large family group. We were woken at 2.30am by a drunken rabble on the Saturday night they were so drunk it was actually funny listening to them one of whom had lost his shoe on the walk home and they were trying to work out how they could share shoes and socks for around 15mins.
All in all if you expect a large busy site with limited views and lots of people holidaying then you will not be dissapointed.

Really enjoyed this site. Good facilities. Everything from an on site pub, restaurant kids play area. Pitches were kept well and reasonable size. Friendly staff! Would definitely recommend

Good for families. People good at keeping noise down in quiet times. Busy on the weekend

Brilliant site, and safe for kids.
The site is clean and well maintained.
There's a nice cafe/pub that does good food, and also over looks the play area.
There are 2 swimming pools, 1 which is big enough to swim and a splash pool which is knee high, so younger kids can enjoy padding and be able to have fun with out arm bands.
Tissington trail is great for a walk or bike ride. And it's not to far to walk to Ashbourne which as some lovely shops.
Highly recommended and can't wait for our next stay.

Lovely family site.. Pub and outdoor swimming pool on site.. 15 minutes walk in to Ashbourne on the Tissington trail..

User

Gets very busy but good facilities available including on site pub which is always a bonus, great position to bike ride off up the Tissington Trail. Just be prepared for lots of like minded campers/ caravaner's particularly at peak holiday times

User

Just amazing. Everything has been thought through well. From campers that don't want to be bothered by anyone to those that want to do everything together.
Our family loved every minute,. Every day was a race to get started, so we can be in the pool, playing table tennis, going for one of many beautiful walks or just having a beer. Desperate to go back
