The Calypso Restaurant is delighted to offer a regular program of live entertainment evenings when you can enjoy not only a great meal but also the great sounds of a traditional jazz band or perhaps a Neal Diamond tribute artist. Read more below.
But maybe you came to this page because you were wondering whether the Calypso Restaurant could accommodate your own "special event" and look after it all for you — a wedding reception, a christening party, a retirement do, etc. Can we do it? Yes we can. For an exclusive, private event, you are able to hire the whole restaurant, and we will provide either a full sit-down meal or a buffet with all necessary staff and bar facilities. Alternatively, we can (and frequently do) cater for parties of all kinds within the normal life of the restaurant. Whatever kind of event you have in mind, simply contact David to talk it through.
Wedding Reception? Christening Party? Retirement 'Do'? . . .
Whatever the event, The Calypso Restaurant will be happy to cater for it. And please don't think are restaurant area is not large enough for the event you have in mind . . . We can provide a marquee of whatever size is necessary on our large car park.
If you have an event you want to celebrate, we can offer you everything from a private gourmet dinner for 10 to a full scale party with music and dancing for up to 150 people.
We can accommodate up to 70 people for a seated meal or up to 150 for a finger buffet. It has its own bar and toilets ensuring you total privacy for your event.
We will tailor the event to your specific requirements and offer a variety of menus created and cooked on the premises with flair and care by our talented team of chefs using only fresh ingredients. Menu details coming soon
As well as stocking a wide variety of wines and spirits, We also stocks popular draught beers and lagers including Fosters, Guinness, Strongbow and John Smiths all at standard pub prices. If you require Our license allows us to supply alcohol till 1am every day (except Sunday)
We have a full music license and can provide a variety of musical talent from classical guitarists to seven-piece jazz bands to suit your needs. We also have our own state-of-the-art PA, disco and lighting set-up and can provide our own dj to entertain your guests. Alternatively, you can provide your own entertainment.
As part of our service, our party co-ordinators will work with you closely to ensure your party gives your guests an unforgettable night and will arrange table and room decorations, cameras etc on your behalf or you can provide your own.

Unfortunately Sista Calypso will be closed today due to a cracked pipe in the cellar causing a flood. We will be open as normal tomorrow. Calypso Blackburn remains open as normal. We are very sorry for any inconvenience cause. Thank-you for your understanding.
Some amazing food went out this evening and a amazing team so much so I bought the full team a drink after work, Kitchen and front off house & Bar staff, (about 12)So must of been a good service lol not saying I'm tight! But on a serious note it was a top little evening and a pleasure to be back in the kitchen and watching and still learning amazing food even though its my menu we all get rusty if we aren't on the ball day in day out!! So it's a big shout out to team calypso for helping a rusty old chef working on the grills!! (hot hot hot) loved every minute.. Wings spot on as always tries the beef pattie as I like trying something new everytime I come was good , but got the special jumbo jerk chicken leg , chicken fell off the bone awesome and the coleslaw on point 🇯🇲 Banging food
Top food last night and atmosphere was great. Staff are all friendly and welcoming. And my 4 year old has never eaten so much. Thank you guys 👌

I should be disqualified now for neither liking a) eating or b) Bob Marley, but I definitely like Calypso. The place is sound, proper nice seating by the canal in the sun, good people working there and everybody I was with loved the food. It's definitely one of the places around the whole area I take any mates who visit this way. (After Greggs.)
Have been eating here since the days when they were based under the hotel on Preston New Road, so 7+ years. Unreal food, amazing atmosphere and a place I always recommend to my friends!!
Had curry mutton rice and peas and the jerk wings. Top notch food, good service. Will defo be back soon

The food was really good & the decor is done well for the type of restaurant it is. Bob Marley is a legend! I’ve told many people about this place & I’d love one in or nearer to Preston :)
Calypso just seems to get better with every visit. I had the kebabs and they were to die for and my hubby had the chicken strips which along with the roast potatoes just melt in your mouth. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Can't wait for our next visit..�
