Took my 22month old daughter here and we had the best time.

Everything was accessible and child friendly.

We could take her on the slides with it.

It was well managed.

But my favourite was the professional photographs that the lady took of my daughter in the pool.

I’ve always wanted swimming photos of her and what she took was perfect.

They were reasonably priced. The girl was lovely and the photos are amazing and will be cherished.οΏ½

First time visit on Tuesday with my son and have to say we really enjoyed it. From meeting Captain Cutlass (great guy and really helpful), Queueing times were fine (arrived at 9:45 and were in the pool for 10am!), Changing rooms were clean and in good condition and the pools were well staffed, with all slides open straight away. Son really loved the diving boards - something you don't get in all pools. Many thanks, looking forward to next visit!

User

1st time today for me and my family 3 children 6 - 4 - 3 got the around 1.10 and got told we had to wait as they was really busy. We didn't mind as expected for being school holidays. Kept the kids busy till 2.10 and then we went in and well what a great time we had paid for 1.5 hours in that time the kids went on every thing they could staff was great the only down side is the kids didn't want to leave we was able to twist there arms and tell them next time we will do the full 3 hours with VIP and go all out. :-) thanks again well worth the money and time to get there...

User

Went today with my 15 year old and my 3 year old...... had a brilliant day, both of them enjoyed themselves, water was lovely and warm too, definitely be returning.

Only downside and why it didn’t get a 5 star from me is i wouldn’t call it a water park and don’t think it should be so pricey.

Didn’t eat here so can’t comment on the food.

Overall we all had fun..... οΏ½

User

Went here with my toddler and a 17 year old and they absolutely loved it. Something for everyone, lovely and attentive staff. Changing rooms were very clean and well worth the money - we bought a 3 hour session.

Only given 4 stars as the food was slightly disappointing and quite expensive. I bought nachos with cheese but the cheese was cold and like rubber. Unfortunately had to return it and buy something else. However, I was given a refund for the nachos.

Overall a pleasant experience and will definitely visit again but won't be visiting the on site restaurant.

User

My family (me, husband and 7 and 3 year old boys enjoyed almost every moment of it. We spent there 3 hours and there was enough to do for all of us. There are only two complaints

: 1. Female toilet smelt so bad, and when i say bad, i mean like a subway in a remote area but times 10 at least. The few times i went there i left it nearly being sick. 2. Water park - but no hair dryers. I managed to dry my boys' hair under a few hand dryers (low power, stopping every 5 or so seconds, but as they were nowhere near wash basins it seemed to be installed for hair drying purpose). I myself ended up walking to my car with wet hair.

User

Kids did enjoy! But from adults point of view we looked on website and stated 11.30 Till 1... when we got there at 11.30 we had to que and wait till 12 as it was busy. Not good with four kids under 7! Also when I go to other pools I don’t pay as I am a Carer for my child with Down syndrome or normally some concession. I was told no because I had to be one on one with him there for my other child would not be allowed in as it’s one parent to two children. But strange didn’t complain as it’s your policy. All in all good pool lots to do x

User

First time visiting Calypso Cove today with my 4yr old son and thought it was great. Definitely well worth booking in advance to save queuing. Great slides, was a little disappointed that there was only 1 slide where I could actually go down with my son. As a kid who has never been to a water park and can’t swim its a bit risky allowing him down on his own with no support at all.

Other than that, great fun οΏ½

User

Fab fun time today...found the pool chilly tbh ..too cold in the end had to.get out...the additional family changing rooms smelt of urine .no fault of the cleaning staff, dirty people to blame for that.

User

Came again today with the whole family (me, my wife, 5yr old, 2yr old and 1 yr old) all loved it as ever but just wanted to say a massive thank you to both the staff that looked after my 2 yr old after he split his lip on the bottom of a slide-complete accident and absolutely nobody’s fault! Both members of staff were very calm and made sure everything was sorted before allowing us to go and get changed (despite all the blood!). Thanks again and we’ll definitely be back!

User

I don't like to leave negative reviews but today all the pool attendants did was blow their whistles at people going beyond the non swimmers point.....fair enough for health & safety but the pool was absolutely packed, far far too many people in the water, no where to attempt to swim & when the waves came on it was very dangerous as people were banging into eachother because it was that busy! Think you need to review school holiday admissions but that's just my opinion. Everywhere was clean & tidy

User

Fun place, little boy loved it. Overpriced in my opinion though. The changing rooms were being cleaned all the time etc but it absolutely stunk of fish, both when going in and leaving. The parking was attrocious also but that can't be helped. All the slides wernt open and opened when we were getting out, big pool shut off for swimming lessons even though the place was rammed and in the hour and half we were there wave machine was on twice?

User

The new training pool has to be the worst thought out thing I've seen in Barnsley, (and that includes stairfoot roundabout)

Nowhere for parents to watch the children, nowhere for the instructor to get around the pool, and only just deeper than the kiddies pool.

User

Hi I came to the hide out yesterday and spend 25 pound on food. I asked for two kids meals without chips but was informed that kids meals comes with chips and I would pay for these . I asked it they did a healthy option like fruit instead but was told no and that the meal came with chips. Very shocked that they is no healthy option for kids at a centre that promotes health and fitness. McDonald's has healthy option on fruit bags think this needs looking at. My children don't like chips so I wasted my money and had to buy some nachos. will not be coming in again after swim will go to McDonald's where they do fruit bags and are cheaper.

User

Don’t often leave bad reviews but felt it was needed. Booked yesterday for a Fathers Day treat and we were sorely disappointed! The pool was so overcrowded and had people constantly knocking into us/we were knocking into other people. I paid online for a 1.5 hour swim (entry at 1300) and was asked to leave the pool at 13:50! Also, we could only use 2 of the slides as one of the others got closed for 45 minutes so they could open up the diving board pool (which we were unable to use due to the age of our 2 children- 6 and 4) and by the time the other slide would be open again our time would have been up! We left 20 minutes early as we were bored! Will be contacting direct with a complaint as it was such a waste of money and a disappointing way to spend Fathers Day.

User

Came here because our 3 year old gets panicked when the water is too deep. Very disappointed to find that the toddler pool was out of action for refurbishment. We had checked opening times on the website and there was no mention of this, nor were we warned at the front desk, although we checked in with 2 very small children. Our little one played on the edges of the large pool but became agitated when the waves started so we had to leave. A very expensive afternoon.

User

Swimming facilities fantastic! Kids love it every time but disappointed that the food has gone down hill that we had to leave most of the processed crap they served usοΏ½ Captain Jill burger is now something i could pull out of a freezer and cook in 5 mins! No longer a fillet!! And wasn't pre-pre-warned either very poor service and will be changing swimming pools due to this too!

User

So after claiming they have had a refurb we was shocked to see nothing had changed when we went today (03.04.18) not only that but clearly they had a issue with controlling how many people were coming in and out as we felt forced out as it had become far too busy for 2 small children and a pregnant woman. Was enjoying it up to this point baring in mind we had to wait over a hour to be allowed in the pool.

User

Just taken my 16month old son who loves swimming baths & he didn’t enjoy it one bit. The water was freezing we paid for an hour an half but literally lasted 20 minutes. It wasn’t just us as we heard several people complain about the temperature. For price you pay is it too much to expect the water to be a suitable temperature for kids!!

User
