Hello lovely dancers.
We don't know about you, but we are still reeling from our sadness about Swing Sanctuary being cancelled.
However we were incredibly lucky to not make a horrendous loss on the event thanks to the amazing understanding of the teacher line up, and we are in a position to be able to host other events in the future.
... The teachers however have suddenly lost the majority of their income for the foreseeable future, and although we as a community were lucky to be able to survive, we want to support the teachers facing cancelled event after cancelled event.
This is why we have set up a fundraising page to help support them through this tough and uncertain time. If you would like to and are able to donate we would be very appreciative.

**Announcement**
A reminder that all of our classes and socials have been suspended until further notice due to government guidelines.
This includes weekly classes in a styles, our swing sanctuary event and our performance troupe rehersals.

Happy March hoppers! New block starting tonight with Dorka&Will - all about Charleston! Beginners will learn the basics tonight, intermediates will work on the tandem. See you soon!

Are you new to lindy or started dancing in a new role recently? If you want to improve your dancing within just a weekend, we have the right event for you! A lindy hop festival like this can give you months' worth of dancing knowledge in just a few hours, delivered by top international teachers! Not to mention there will be a taster class to try out Boogie Woogie and 3 social dances with fantastic live bands! We still have places left at our Willow level.

Immy and Alistair will be upstairs taking us through our Lindy Hopping paces, and Charlotte and Danielle will be covering more musicality in Collegiate Shag downstairs! Pay once upstairs for either class :)
Also a note - classes start at 1930, and we encourage students to be on time so they don't disrupt the class and other students. In particular for tonight, Collegiate Shag will be starting with important concepts rathe...r than footwork, so please do be on time!
Both rooms are accessible from about 1900 onwards, in case you're an early bird ;)

Hey Hoppers!
Just to reiterate the message in our newsletter, that there are to be no aerials on the social dance floor please. Save these for jam circles and competitions when you can show off to your heart's content!
... If you have been to the aerials workshop at the weekend, or another in the past then you can practice in designated spaces listed below.
**You will be practicing at your own risk, and please make sure you have spotters to help you!**
Tonight (4th Feb) downstairs in the Shag room after the shaggers have finished their social dancing (roughly 9pm) Tomorrow (5th Feb), At St Paul's Church 830 pm- 9pm in designated area which will be specified by the Wednesday teachers. (Again you are fully responsible for your safety, our teachers will not be there to supervise this!)

We are looking some more volunteers for Tuesday and Wednesday nights to help keep Cambridge Swing Dance running!
There are lots of perks, free entry to the class/social while volunteering, a chance to meet lots of people in the swing dance community and the love and adoration of the committee (who are also volunteers!).
... Additionally, if you volunteer three times you get a whole night free on us!
If we can't get door volunteers there is a risk that a class might get cancelled, so it really is super important!
