A great message from a Complex Housing OT in Cambridge regarding one of our Disabled Facilities Grants!

Well done to our Caseworker, Laura Clarke who has completed over 850 Disabled Facilities Grants since the agency was set up in 2012. Laura who works mainly in the Huntingdonshire area has worked on DFG’s since originally joining Huntingdonshire District Council 18 years ago

Delighted to be awarded South Cambs District Council 2019 Team of the year award last week which helps to raise awareness of Disabled Facilities Grants across South Cambs District Council, Cambridge City Council and Huntingdonshire District Council. Our team has reduced the time taken to complete adaptations by half, developed a comprehensive suite of staff training and continues to support many disabled, elderly adults and children to remain safely in their own homes.

Reading about this tragedy in Inside Housing reminded us to tell leaseholders or private tenants in flats that if you are on benefits/low income you can access a SPECIAL PURPOSES GRANT from Cambs HIA to pay for safety and security improvements such as fire doors

A lovely #kitchen we’ve adapted in South Cambridgeshire to help a #disabled couple. We’ve given them more worktop space to allow them to #safely transfer hot dishes from their #InductionHob or their #SlideAndHideOven to the worktop. Our #clients have done a great job of making this kitchen #homely with their #blind, #UtensilRack, #Choppingboard and #HeatTray!
