Crikey! . . . If we had known how to pick a name that could be further away from what we do, we would''nt have got it better! Sounds like we are some kind of seedy little import /export business[I wish] . By the way, the picture[right] is not of our premises, and I would''nt be seen dead in that jumper! Just adds to the ambience of our opening page, and makes us look so professional!

Enough of this, lets give you some of our[short] history.

From our humble beginnings in the March of 2000 our aim has always been to offer quality garden equipment and machinery that works well, is reliable and above all is backed up by the manufacturer . We don't just choose brand names because they sell! We feel that to sell you a piece of equipment, firstly we have to believe in it ourselves. With this aim in mind we don't change brands year on year , this helps us to be more efficient by knowing our product better and keeping a good stock of consumable parts. Saying this though we are at the mercy of the industry, and alot happens every year that we have to counter.

For the last two years we have been sub dealing Stihl products, mainly chainsaws. For this season we hope to be officially recognised as the areas dealer for this great brand. We have started to sell through the full range of product including hedgetrimmers, strimmers, blower-vacs and of course the Kombi system. This now replaces our commitment to Tanaka products, which we feel are now at a disadvantage price wise. We can now offer a 24" Stihl hedgecutter with 27cc engine at £249 inc vat. Is there any need to shop around for a cheaper product?We will also be able to offer the full range of Viking products that Stihl distribute, like rotovators, mowers, ride on mowers and garden equipment for all occasions.

On the pedestrian mower front we now sell from the Hayter range, which now includes a great range of mowers from Toro, which are price pointers but of quality construction. Ride on mowers will also come from this range, but within reason we can supply most makes.

After the move of premises in 2009 we have really felt the full force of the recession. We have decreased stock levels of new machinery, and we are trying to make our mower service and repair side work more effectively. For 2012 we have actually dropped our out of season mower servicing prices. We now charge mileage to pick up mowers, but within reason most customers local to us will gain from this change. Of course if you bring the mower in to us this not only saves us time, but saves you money.

A page now to look out for is our firewood & logs page. We have set up a free delivery service in and around Wisbech for our bags of kiln dried logs & hotties heat logs. We think there is a gap in the market for someone doing smaller bags of good quality firewood. Not everyone can accommodate a large trailer full of logs! We even have a dedicated phone line now just for the firewood side. 01945 583107.

Fixed price servicing will not be available after 31 March due to the demand for `last minute services'' in our busy time we have taken this step to try & push people to have their mowers serviced in our slack time. This is generally from late October through to the end of Febuary. Only customers who purchased new machinery last year can expect a service slot in our busy schedule.

After the 31st march we will service mowers at the hourly rate of £35. 00 inc vat. A normal ride on service takes about 4 hours(£140. 00 at normal rate)but with extra work involved can be up to 7-8hours! That is why we try to tell people that out of season servicing is the most cost effective. It only costs you £100. 00 for all labour commitment to your job.

Most work in season is usually of a repair nature. Therefore we will fix your mower at our hourly rate, and get you through the season. We then advise that you book it in with us for a fixed price service out of season. We can then spread our work load and be more effective at what we do.

All two stroke or small machinery(strimmers, chainsaws, hedgecutters, blowers etc)is repaired at a lower rate of £30. 00 per hour. chargeable in 1 /4 hour increments. We feel this gives people better value for money. We also say if it is unrepairable, or you think a new one is the way to go, then as long as you buy from us, we wont charge for looking at your old machine.


The prices for servicing are as follows, from October 1st 2011 up to March 31st 2012.

Larger grounds mowers & professional turf cylinder mowers at an hourly rate of £35. 00inc. vat. Cylinder grinding and blade sharpening at £2. 00 per inch, cylinders cleaned and painted.

We have tried to introduce the fairest way of charging for services, whilst looking at where our biggest costs are. With the continued price rise of diesel and the time physically travelling on our more congested roads we have decided to charge for pick up and delivery. If this means more people bring their mowers in then we will benefit from more workshop time to get the services done quicker. But if we have to pick up mowers, we will be covering the cost of staff and fuel and not starting to run at a loss as was happening last season. We hope this does'nt put anybody off, and if you look at our prices we still try to offer the most competitive winter service locally.

Mileage charge for picking up lawnmowers is simply £1. 00 per mile one way. Therefore if you live 5 miles away this will involve two journies to your address, one to pick up and one to drop off, which is £5. 00 x 2 =£10. 00. On a ride on lawnmower this is still a saving of £10. 00 over last years price.

Please either let it ring or leave a message. Please refrain from chasing your machine up! If you can imagine we have sometimes 50 machines in for repair, that equates to 20 + phone calls a day of between 2-5 minutes long. At best that is 40 minutes of my time taken up, some days more like 1 1 /2 hours. . . . . We will ring you as soon as it is done and invoiced, thank you. . . .
