WHAT IS CAMDA?

CAMDA (Cheltenham Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) is a new small private drama school based in the heart of the Cotswolds, England.

CAMDA is dedicated to promoting 'The CAMDA Way' - a blueprint for acting excellence - to talented individuals 6 years of age and above.

THE CAMDA WAY

'The CAMDA Way' is a blueprint for acting excellence inspired by the world famous Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

CAMDA's personal formula continues to evolve and be honed by specialist tutors, staff, students and alumni at the Cheltenham Academy.

'The CAMDA Way 'advocates small class sizes (maximum 15 students), first class tuition, nurturing of skills, discipline, exceptional support, one on one feedback, professional guidance, award winning facilities and individual attention for every individual enrolled without exception.

CAMDA ORIGINS

Led by RADA graduates and industry professionals, CAMDA aim to transform lives through theatre, reaching wider audiences than ever before.

We believe in the magic of live theatre and its transformative power.

With places for a total of 50 individuals per course on our bespoke Acting Short Course (8 weeks) and CAMDA Foundation Diploma (1 year, 3 academic terms), attended part time; beginning 19 October 2015.

People of all ages can enjoy outstanding Music, English and Drama workshops led by our dedicated team. We have a professional team of tutors drawn from the industry, mainly the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and Royal Academy of Music (RAM) whilst leaders who are hand-picked for being committed to giving their best, to bring out the best in students creative potential. Each staff member provides supreme care, feedback and encouragement throughout.

The Foundation Diploma Certificate is ideal for anyone showing extraordinary talent and commitment whether age 8 to 16 years or 17 + , who may be keen to further their personal and professional development . Whether refining skills, meeting new friends, focusing ambition, seeking a career change or simply broadening the mind, this one year course (inspired by the RADA & Kings College Masters Degree course in Text & Performance -Drama) is led by top personnel including Ellis Jones (Vice Principal of RADA for 16 years to 2009) and CAMDA's Principal. The Diploma can open doors for individuals seeking work within the industry, thanks to the networking opportunities and high calibre of drama specialists who are passionate about the arts.

Thanks to close links with the UK industry, students undertaking the short Acting Taster Courses and one year Foundation Certificate at CAMDA are promised outstanding privileges each academic term. These include exclusive theatre performances, special local and London film screenings, special guest talks, fascinating workshops, tailored cultural trips and visits, annual fundraisers, bespoke Masterclasses, industry contacts, mentoring with RADA alumni, Chaperones, guidance for staging excellence every year, exciting work experience opportunities, concessions for West End shows, the chance to attend annual RADA special events, performances in stunning theatre venues and more.

Our team is on hand to offer gifted performers a golden chance to deepen their appreciation and skills in music and drama, regardless of age, background and experience on a course that is innovative and exciting, where no two weeks are the same.
