The last in our Safeguarding Manager, Sophie's series for Anti-Bullying Week is a message about creating the best possible environment for children.

Building resilience from a young age helps young people cope with difficult situations. Resilience is one of the greatest life skills a young person can possess and something worth nurturing.

Here's some more lovely advice for Anti-Bullying Week. You can encourage your child to share their thoughts by doing an activity together.

Another tip from our Safeguarding Manager, Sophie's series for Anti-Bullying Week is to encourage your child to create supportive friendships.

For Anti-Bullying Week, Sophie Rahim, our National Safeguarding Manager has shared her advice on preventing bullying, and choosing respect - which is the theme of this year's campaign. We will be posting Sophie's tips each day this week.

Did you know it's odd socks day next Monday? The Anti-Bullying Alliance want everyone to wear odd socks to show that it's o.k to be different - such a lovely idea.

This is my sons 4th year at Northwood and he has just completed the half term week, he absolutely loves every minute of it....the staff are amazing and so welcoming. Every year they remember him as he walks up to the door which just amazes me. I am so comfortable with dropping him off every morning as I know he will have fun. He cannot wait for his next time in Aug.

User

Simply the best. No more words needed!

User

Love it! Very organised and well run and the kids just can't wait to get there! Thanks Camp Beaumont Tunbridge Wells!

It's the 3rd year my daughter has been and the 2nd year for my son. My daughter has been begging to go back since Easter.. they have come back so excited with all they have done!! My only issue is they are doing song practice on the way home... they simply love it! Thank you

I've been using camp Beaumont at bancrofts for years, there is no other camp around to compete with it. Each and every child are personally known by the staff that run it and are cared for amazingly. Activities...too many to mention! Fun.....loads of it. Compassion......they are all over it. Fun and laughter all day long with camp Beaumont in Woodford, with staff that really care about the safety and happiness of your kids! I work full time and need to know my kids are safe and having the best possible time during the summer when I can't be with them. Love love love camp Beaumont . Thank you x

Camp Beaumont offers all children a wide variety of activities ranging from Kiddie Karts to swimming and biscuit decoration to painting. Camp Beaumont work hard to offer the highest customer service and children to always leave smiling. I would recommend Camp Beaumont for any family!

User

Camp Beaumont is a great company in so many different ways, they are supportive of children, parents and staff. I would recommend sending your children to Camp Beaumont (especially Bancrofts), you will never find an atmosphere like it!

Children had fun but I’m really struggling to get my son’s Epipen back from these people. I’ve telephoned numerous times and their last response was that β€œwe have no control over our staff” when not on the premises. The member of staff has had the Epipen since 1st of June. God only knows what he’d need a child’s Epipen for! Replacing it privately is rather costly and after spending nearly Β£500 for my children to attend USC camp you’d think they’d at least bother to sort this out?!

User

Unfortunately my son had an accident and broke his shoulder the other day meaning I had to cancel his attendance at Camp Beaumont for the one day he was booked in for this week. He had been on a few previous occasions over the summer and seemed to enjoy it although I have no clue what he got up to as I had no feedback or agenda from the staff and trying to glean information from a 4 year old is nearly impossible!

When I called to explain the situation, I was told that I couldn't get a refund as I had the wrong type of insurance - I had 24 hr refund insurance and not CPP insurance. Despite being the same cost per day, the former meant I lost my money which wasn't explained to me when I booked. I now understand the difference but would have expected some sort of compensation from Camp Beaumont as a company whose whole agenda is to look after children. The token money off my next booking which they offered me was somewhat presumptuous - to this day I still don't know what my son did each day so unlikely to re-book with them. I explained that I had received full refunds from other companies despite this breaching their standard T&Cs and was told that the late cancellation (4 days notice) messed with their staff ratios - however, if someone cancelled under the 24 hr refund policy, would this not also mess with their ratios and at less notice?! Very confused and very disappointed.

User

despicable....

my 3 year daughter was left all day without food, she had a full lunch bag with a flask that had hot pasta in it, however the teacher and her assistants failed to open her flask. From the contents in her bag she from 8am to 4:30pm had only I yoghurt, 1 small carton of juice and barney cake. how can your company justify this? i want a full investigation and an explanation

It has been one of the worst summer camp I've never booked. My daughter went to King's College daily camp in Wimbledon; the staff is very, very young and they leave children under the sun with 30 degrees from 9am to 5pm!! I talked to them but nothing was changed. I booked horse riding lessons but my daughter did not have lessons; it has been just a walk with horse, even on the road and it was about 30 minutes and no more. She didn't want to stay there on second day of this terrible experience. I sent an email but nothing has been better neither last days and nobody answered me by email maybe because I have already paid......When I booked I was happy and my daughter was excited to start this experience, but it has been disappointing and negative. I can't recommend Camp Beaumont. They must change with their customers and also invest on experienced staff, because they stay all day long with our children!!!

User

I have come home today to find my 5 year old with a hand made rope necklace knotted around her neck.

I'm shocked that staff at StHelens in Northwood have not seen the immediate danger in doing such a thing. I have sent a picture in directly to camp Beaumont and am waiting for a response.
