Each camp is unique and always a little different to the others, so we've put together a general guide to a 'typical' day at camp for you to get an idea of what to expect.

Very well organised company with excellent staff. Made me feel very at ease throughout the entire process and has some amazing links with camps throughout the whole of America. Can’t fault them.

This was by far the best summer I've had! Getting into the program was quick, the girl who interviewed me then helped me with everything! Every question I had she would answer so quickly. I was so nervous about going to camp but she kept reassuring me. On the visa day and also the preparation day, the other people of camp leaders were lovely, happy to help and were just awesome! The camp I was at was amazing, I made so many friends and I loved my job. I would like go back next year! Would 100% recommend if you want to work out in America and have a unforgettable summer!

Such an amazing company to attend summer camps with. All the camps have visits from the company through the year to make sure you're enjoying it. It's a relief to know they're still looking out for you when you're out there. The states can be a scary place but they make the journey worthwhile 10/10 would recommend!

I went to camp for 3 summers through Camp Leaders and couldn't praise highly enough, the dedicated, individual service I was given. From my first summer when I applied to the program late and Helen in the office guided me through the process step by step as kind of a personal mentor, to the third summer when I was traveling in South Africa and the team helped me through the intricate visa process whilst I was on the other side of the world.



I'll always remember the personal phone call I received from the founder Chris Arnold, the day before I flew out for my first summer. I couldn't believe that the owner of the company was taking the time out to call every participant - it truly gave that genuine feeling that the company cared about me.

I used Camp Leaders for my 5 summers working at a YMCA summer camp in North Carolina. I had the most incredible time over in the states all down to the fabulous work of the camp leaders team. They were there every step of the way to answer all my silly questions about what to pack to how do I use my mobile to keep in touch with people back home. Couldn't recommend them enough :)

I spent a summer at Camp Tioga, Pennsylvania with campleaders. Thanks to Lana for being my interview coordinator!! I had an amazing time and it is certainly the summer of your lifetime! The process is long but it ensures that you have taken all the right measures to spend a safe few months out in the states at camp! I spoke to many people at camp that went through different agencies and camp leaders certainly seems the best! The best workers also seemed to come from campleaders, they were the counselors that were captains and co-captains in colour war and olympics. This shows that camp leaders are doing their job right!

I have gone through camp leaders for 6 J1 visas, I did my research and concluded they were the best option on so many levels and I have not been disappointing. I used camp leaders in the UK and in Canada where i am a permanent resident.



There team is responsive, concise and incredibly helpful. In particular Darren from the world team, he has helped me so much over the years.



For the experience you get the value for money is great, there are more associated costs than you first expect but I feel that is the same anytime you travel and work.

I had the best summer of my life this year all thanks to Camp Leaders. They were helpful, straightforward and very friendly whenever I needed help or advice. I had trouble with getting a visa appointment in time for my flight since i was a last minute hire, but they managed to get it sorted. I was also very worried about not getting placed as it got to April and I was still waiting to get placed, but there was plenty of advice each time I was put on review which ultimately helped me get placed. Would definately recommend this company and I am off back to camp Summer 2017! (Which took me about 20 minutes to get my application done- So simple the second time around!)

My first summer at camp was 2014 and after a few recommendations from friends I signed up with Campleaders. The application process was so easy to understand and the Campleaders staff were so helpful and available anytime. I was able to go straight through to the phone lines to speak to someone who was always enthusiastic to help. I was placed before Christmas so within just a few months!

My time at summer camp was honestly life changing and I came home with such a new perspective of life, along with some insane experiences. It really helped me grow as an individual. I made some life long friends which I still skype and meet up with all the time! After having a year off camp last summer, I decided I needed to go back! Campleaders were again great with helping me as a returner to get all the relevant paperwork ready. They were speedy with email queries and with confirmation of uploaded documents. This summer at camp was my favourite yet! I returned to my previous camp and met some more amazing people. I then traveled around 10 states post camp with my Aussie Bestie and had an absolute blast! I can't thank Campleaders enough!

Had the best summer in america and Camp Leaders made it all possible- found the application process very organised and you are supported all the way! you get a phonecall straight away when you start the application process and more at different stages throughout to make sure you're doing okay! Loved the interview/"chat" with a camp leaders representative and also the preparation day- it just makes you really excited for camp and feel really prepared! 100% recommend :D

Camp Leaders is an incredible company! All the staff are amazing, from interviews to office staff to social help!

They helped me with the steps every step of the way - Guy was amazing in making sure my application was completed and that I knew what was going on!

From getting on the plane to America to getting off the plane in England I didn’t stop smiling for a second! It was the most amazing experience of my life. Getting to work in an overnight camp with children with special needs was phenomenal! It has given me friends for life and even families that I can stay with and would gladly have me move in with them. � camp is now my home and cannot wait to return there with the help of camp Leaders!

An unforgettable summer thanks to Camp Leaders. Their program is simple to follow and their customer service team go above and beyond. I highly recommend this company.

You don't realise how much you will be paying at the start. Add up all the fees, the travel to get a VISA, flights etc. Also what you don't realise is if you are like me and were getting bullied and made your life hell at camp by a couple of other staff members you're pretty much on your own if you leave for the sake of your mental health. Dropped off at the airport as soon as I said why I can't do it anymore, left to book flights myself, eventually getting to call someone to arrange a flight change. No sooner had I landed home i got a phone call. Not a 'i'm very sorry for your bad experience, who were the staff members making your life hell, hope you're mental health is okay' but 'so, you broke your contract so you owe us £XXXX asap'. Honestly the whole experience rinsed my savings I had and knocked me right down I'd never do it again. Even the camp director was a massive bully, not the fault of Camp Leaders though...

WARNING to all young people out there- this company will continue to take money from your account even after you withdraw your application AND they delete all negative reviews.

Terrible experience after letting this company know that I was sorting my passport out then I would sort my visa out they told me it was ok they then withdrew my application without much information I actually called to say I had my new passport and was ready to get the rest sorted but I was a day late and there was nothing they could do I was unaware of this! I feel so let down by this service I do not recommend! I have been looking forward to this and making plans but know I have to find work and other plans for the summer just a let down!

Go with another company if you want to go to camp. You join the process thinking that it is going to be such a fun experience but all the fun is taken out of the experience by camp leaders. They have vetted the camps they have on their books but don't accept responsibility for them if they fail you. Experience this with another company or save your money all together.
